A perfect run — 125 Google ratings, all five stars — is the first thing that stands out about CAN Roof Construction, a Boston roofing contractor that also handles gutters, skylights, siding, and deck building. Nate Jalil (listed as Natig Jalilov on its Better Business Bureau profile) co-founded the company with Rocky Tami; the BBB puts it at 7 years old, which lines up with the 2019 start date on its own homepage, though its About page separately claims a 2010 founding and '15 years of experience' — a detail worth asking about, since the company's own story doesn't agree with itself. The last six months brought seven reviews and not one negative word among them, with the specifics reading like a New England winter: a same-day ice dam removal in February, an overnight callout on a freezing night to clear snow and break up ice before a ceiling leak spread, and a flat rubber roof job on a Hyde Park three-decker that one customer called 'extremely reasonable.' Reviewers also point to an office admin who gets inspections scheduled within a day and an inspector who explains what's wrong before recommending work. Further back, the pattern holds — 114 reviews across seven sources since 2019, with Thumbtack's 'Exceptional' 5.0 from 12 reviews and a Houzz listing echoing the same tone. The company advertises GAF and CertainTeed certifications and says it covers Boston and Worcester, though its reviews cluster in Greater Boston and MetroWest. It carries an A+ from the BBB but hasn't sought BBB accreditation, and outside of Google and Thumbtack its review history is thin — Houzz shows just one rating. For an ice dam emergency, a rubber-roof leak, or a full roof replacement, the review history here is deep and consistently positive. Before booking, it's worth asking which founding story is accurate and getting a written scope for any gutter, siding, or deck work, since those show up far less often in reviews than the roofing itself.

Excellent craftsmanship and quick turnaround. They identified a number of issues, fixed it quickly, and dropped by multiple times to resolve follow up questions. Honest, reliable, and great customer service.

Nate and his crew came originally to repair the EDPM rubber roof under our top-floor deck last fall, which had developed a serious leak and had been poorly repaired in the past. They removed and replaced the earlier substandard repair, which essentially stopped the leaking.

Important notes: when we originally called them, they visited and gave us an estimate with 24 hours, and the repair was quickly done. This was really appreciated. When their repair still leaked slightly, however, due to damage unreachable because of the deck, they offered to deduct the full cost of the repair from our eventual re-roofing.

They returned this spring as soon as the weather permitted, carefully removing the deck, then they stripped the old rubber roof and cladding, repairing and replacing materials where needed. They properly reflashed everything with copper, installed the new roof, and replaced the deck. They sent us detailed photos of the whole job, and were easy to deal with throughout.
We would hire them again, and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Hired CAN to do a flat rubber roof of a 3 decker in Hyde Park. They were extremely reasonable, communicative, and did great work. Highly recommend!

Great experience working with the team at CAN Roof Construction. I appreciated that they had a dedicated office admin that was always available to help with scheduling, and she coordinated the initial inspection within a day. Andy was great during the inspection, very informative, and I trusted he was giving us his true professional opinion and not trying to sell us on unnecessary repairs. Also small thing, but very courteous as a guest in our home (taking shoes off, kind to the cats, etc).

Rocky and his team came for the repairs within two business days and the attention to detail was great. They took their time, and were communicative about everything they were doing. They also patched a few extra areas and didn't upcharge us for them!

Highly recommend, and will definitely use this team when we have to do a full roof replacement in a few years.
