Ask the company directly for recent work: two or three addresses from the last year, which trades its own crew covers and which get subcontracted, and how a painting-led firm handles the framing and permits on an addition. A reasonable call for exterior painting or a roof in the Malden area, where a long-established owner-operator counts for something. For a full addition, ask up front who carries the structural work.
