Eight of Altitude Roofing's reviewers describe the same day: the crew arrives, the old roof comes off, and the new one is on before they leave. One April 2025 customer counted 14 hours; another, writing the day before, counted 13 nearly non-stop. Altitude is a Worcester company that calls itself woman-owned and family-run, with Laura Marek as president and Chester — Chet — Marek as operations manager and estimator, and says it has been roofing for 20 years. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, as is its state Women Business Enterprise certification.
The older roofs are where the specifics get interesting. In an April 2024 review, a three-family house belonging to the writer's parents had a 115-year-old slate roof stripped and recovered in a single day. A March 2024 slate repair was scoped from a drone video summary, which that homeowner thought worth describing. A March 2026 reviewer had all three sections of a historical condominium complex replaced, with edgework detailed around existing structures, on time and on budget, and a June 2026 customer with a 116-year-old house had a full replacement done and the property left cleaner than the crew found it.
They also turn up after someone else has failed. An April 2025 reviewer said a leak had defeated several companies — including the one that caused it — before Chet's crew found it. In a February 2026 review, a homeowner with an active ice dam called Chet and had a crew there within a couple of hours to shovel the roof clear. An April 2024 customer with a winter leak had the work sequenced around getting solar panels removed, and an August 2023 reviewer who found a water stain on the living room ceiling got an appointment two days out.
Eight reviewers write about the cleanup as well. A December 2023 customer, used to finding neighbors' shingles in his yard when other roofs get done, said Altitude finished in a day without leaving a nail behind — which mattered with dogs in the yard. The work reaches past shingles too: gutters replaced with a roof in a May 2025 review, a new dormer in March 2024, a porch repaired in September 2024, and cedar clapboard siding repaired alongside a new cedar roof in a November 2019 review. Google runs 4.9★ across 55 ratings, with Angi and HomeAdvisor both at 4.9★ across 28.
The thing to sort out early is everything else living on your roof. Reviewers had satellite dishes taken down in May 2025, solar panels removed in an April 2024 job, and gutters replaced along with the shingles — say what is up there when you ask for the quote. A July 2026 customer noted the permit and the crew arriving together within a few weeks of the quote, as promised.
For a central Massachusetts homeowner with slate, cedar shake or asphalt overhead — or a leak nobody has managed to find — Altitude is a strong call, particularly if having the whole tear-off and replacement land in one day suits your week. Ask what the permit timeline looks like in your town, and what comes off the roof before the shingles do.

Altitude Roofing was simply awesome from the time of quote until finishing the job. Randy was very courteous and always responsive to all my queries. He was able to get the permit and the team on site to complete the job within few weeks as promised unlike other companies. They did an excellent job and the quote was very reasonable compared to other roofing companies. They gave a life time warranty on the roof and the crew did an excellent job from start to finish and also took care of good clean up after the job. Definitely recommend them for your roofing needs.
