A custom stair tread, made by hand to match the existing stairs, is one of the jobs a recent Modern Remodel Build & Design customer described. The August 2026 reviewer said Brian also made barn doors for their shed and fixed vinyl siding problems. The Worcester company says it creates and remodels interior and exterior spaces, including building, masonry and general contracting. Customer accounts describe carpentry, porch work, repairs and bathroom remodeling. In an October 2024 Google review, a homeowner said Brian demolished and rebuilt their front porch over two days, arriving when promised with supplies and the help needed. The customer described added requests for soffit replacement, column painting and attention to metal flashing, and noticed reinforced supports beneath the deck. They also said he sanded scuffs around the front door frame. When the customer initially hesitated over the changed appearance, Brian offered to return and change it without charge; the reviewer said they later came to love the result. A July 2024 reviewer described several projects with Brian and Modern Remodel: a screened-in porch, skylight repair, and roof and ceiling repair. For the roof and ceiling job, the customer said he arrived quickly, stayed in the area until he could fix the roof, removed the ceiling, cleaned and dried the area, and built a tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling. The reviewer also said he explained each step and answered questions. Bathroom customers writing in January and July 2024 praised the finished work. The January reviewer said the quoted price never changed. The July customer described patience and flexibility through unexpected delays and changes in scope. A September 2024 customer likewise said their work finished on time and within budget. Prices drew different descriptions across projects: the October 2024 porch customer said the work was not cheap, while a March 2024 reviewer said custom work cost less than expected and praised receiving an architectural drawing beforehand. Google’s August 2026 listing showed a 5-star average from 15 ratings. In a June 2025 review, a customer said Brian started work three days after visiting to give a quote.
Brian is a very detailed oriented person. He replace a stair tread that had been custom made and nailed it! He constructed the step by hand because he couldn’t buy a premade tread and it matches the other stairs perfectly. He also custom made barn doors for our shed and they came out beautiful. Also, fix some vinyl siding issues we were having. Can’t say enough about Brian other than he is truly crafty and does amazing work! Highly recommend contacting him if you need to get the job done and done right!
Brian is fantastic! Just 3 days after he came out to give me a quote he started the job. Everything came out beautifully. He will go the extra mile to make sure things are done right.
Brian rebuilt our front porch for us. He came the day he said he would and completed all the demo, tidied up, and started the rebuild in the first day, finished it the next. All this while I kept adding requirements (replace the soffit, paint the columns, clean up the metal flashing). I am thrilled with how the deck looks (and everyone who sees it comments how good it looks), but I noticed that he reinforced the supports under the deck while he was building it. In other words, he did extra work that I wouldn’t even know existed, unless I hadn’t seen it myself. The extra ‘little things’ that Brian did while he was here make him stand out from the crowd of contractors and handymen; for example, there were scuff around the front door frame that made the entrance look a little ‘scruffy’ and it was not part of my request, but he sanded those out, so that when finished, the whole entrance looks sooo much better than before! I wasn’t even sure that I liked it at first (it was so different), and he offered to come back for free to change it, if I really didn’t like it!! But now I love it! I guess what I’m trying to say is that the results are fabulous! BUT, I also loved the process! He bought all the supplies he needed, so that he had them on the first day. He came with the manpower he needed to get the job done in 2 days (to minimize my inconvenience of not being able to use the front door), and just got it done! I didn’t have to worry about anything. I won’t say it was cheap, but I didn’t want cheap, I wanted the BEST and I feel like I got that with Brian!
We had a great experience working with Brian. We got exactly what we wanted and he was flexible when situations didn’t go exactly as planned. The work was done on time and in our budget and looks great!
Brain and the team’s commitment to assuring our satisfaction made them a joy to have in the house. Kind and focused, they showed great flexibility and patience through various unexpected delays and changes to the scope of work. We are so grateful for how the bathroom turned out, and now it’s such a pleasure to use. We highly recommend them for your next project, and will certainly hire them again in the future!
