ALX Tree Service

ALX Tree Service carries 189 Google ratings averaging 4.9 stars. The company says it has done tree trimming and removal for over 20 years, and it lists a service area that runs from West Hartford, Hartford and New Britain to New Haven, Hamden, Shelton and Meriden. One customer had two 100-foot trees and a dozen arborvitae taken down and said the crew had the right heavy equipment. A customer who called on a Saturday night for emergency tree removal said they came out first thing Sunday morning. One customer had over 45 stumps ground, two trees removed and a tree trimmed. On a red maple, a customer said Alex oversaw the pruning one step at a time so they could assess the progress and agree to the next steps. A 2024 customer said ALX came to quote the same day they called, scheduled the work within 2 weeks, and sent another crew to grind the stumps the next day. A 2025 customer said two 70-year-old black locust trees and a maple were cut down and the stumps ground to no trace. One recent customer said they did not show up twice when they said they would, "with no proactive communication as to why." A 2024 customer said sections of a maple's trunk were dumped on a neighbor's perennial garden, and that trucks were moved onto the front yard without plywood, leaving deep ruts. On other platforms, ALX holds 4.8 stars from 58 Thumbtack ratings and 4.2 stars from 9 HomeAdvisor ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+.
