If you call them, ask for the current registration status in writing, tie payments to completed stages rather than paying anything close to the full amount up front, and ask for two references from jobs finished in the last year. The estimating drew real praise; it is the finishing where the record is contested.

AMG is a family-owned company with several years of experience. They quickly responded to us via Yelp after we requested a quote to paint a porch, posts, and railing, and they were actually able to stop by that same evening to look the job over. They gave us the quote by email the next day with the basic outline of work to be completed. We asked for a more detailed breakdown for sanding, wood replacement or repair, priming, brand of paint (typically they use Benjamin Moore, which was our preference, but said they could also use Sherwin Williams), and to verify 2 coats of paint (which they do). Lucas was very responsive and answered all of our questions via email very quickly – either the same day or the next day. Of the 5 quotes we received, we decided this was the best one based on: 1) reasonable price, 2) ability to start job quickly, 3) comparatively short estimated job length, 4) crew work and were not just a one-man shop, 5) family-owned, local business, and 6) already seemed responsive. So, we hired AMG to do an outdoor painting job for us in Nov 2021. They painted our upstairs and downstairs porch railings, our outside porch floor, refinished the outside of our front door and did some miscellaneous touch-ups. This job took two men about four days of work, although it ended up spanning over a 2-week period because there was a week of rain after the first day. We are VERY happy with their work. The two men who did the work were very nice and happy to talk to us when we came out, and one was fluent in English so there was no language barrier. Their work was quick and clean – and I am someone who notices details. Their lines were clean and straight, and they did a great job on matching to existing colors. At one point, there was a miscommunication between us, AMG, and their hired-out carpenter, but AMG responded right away and quickly resolved this issue. We highly recommend this company!

It was great. They do a neat job, quality work, they were fast the, prices can't be beaten, and they work on your time frame. The owner was great and easy to deal with. I already hired them again to do another job.
