A bird feeder pole, a loom handle and a rebuilt camper battery slide are among the custom pieces an Amherst Welding customer described in a January 2020 Google review. That customer said they and their wife had used the shop repeatedly over ten years for camper repairs and fabrication, including a replacement for a rust-damaged, cracked frame. The shop is based on Harkness Road in Amherst. Its BBB description advertises custom welding and fabrication alongside hydraulics, trailer servicing, logging equipment, lawn mower service and small-engine repair. Its website also lists trailer hardware, including hubs, bearings, hitch balls and jacks. Vehicle repair accounts are specific. In September 2024, a Google reviewer said Darren replaced rocker panels on their Ridgeline, accommodated particular requests and charged a price they considered fair. They booked the lift work a month ahead and picked up the vehicle 36 hours after dropping it off. A May 2023 review described rust repair on a Toyota Tundra frame and removal of an unsafe trailer hitch. The customer said the work took a day and cost less than $350 against an initial $400 frame-repair quote; they said it had been done in December. A November 2025 reviewer described arranging an appointment for a hitch or tow bar, and praised the people at the shop. In June 2026, another customer said Amherst Welding had the item they needed after unsuccessful stops at several other stores, at a price they considered fair. Google shows a 4.9-star average across 37 ratings.
After purchasing the wrong size from Tractor Supply, a stop at the hardware store, the auto store and the trailer supply, Amherst Welding had exactly what I was looking for and a very fair price. Thanks again!
Set up appointment to have a hitch/tow-bar welded or fastened to my car. They are experienced and reputable-doing busines "forever and a day." This is their busiest time of year because winter is coming and that means snow removal, which translates into snow plows needing to be installed on trucks which is their specialty. No welding job too small or too big for them. Hometown welcoming people.
Darren did a great job replacing rocker panels on a G1 Ridgeline. Price was fair & they were willing to accommodate my specific requests. Scheduled work on the lift a month out and able to pick it up 36 hours after dropping the vehicle off
I took my 06 Toyota Tundra in. They quoted me $400 for a repair of some rust on the frame. I asked if they could look at the trailer hitch, which I had been told should not be used. They said they could remove it at the same time. They did it all in a day for less than $350! I couldn’t happier with their work. They did this in December.
My wife and I have gone to Amherst Welding many times over the last 10 years since we moved here. They have always been over-the-top splendid! They are extremely creative, patient, friendly and competent. They have repaired our camper several times for random problems like; reconstructing a coach battery slide, correcting a mis- wired coach battery, fixing a broken hinge. They also discovered a cracked frame damaged by rust- they made a new one. We would have paid much more at the RV repair shop where they’d have had to order new parts. They also have made us a bird feeder pole, crafted a handle to tighten a loom, and under coated our cars in winter. When we’re in a rush they’ve often been able to squeeze us in quickly. We highly recommend them all.
