Antonio Lopes, doing business as Lopes Electric LLC out of New Bedford, has built an unusually deep public record for a one-person electrical shop: 4.8 stars from 95 Thumbtack ratings, Top Pro status in both 2018 and 2021, and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. BuildZoom separately reports verifying his Massachusetts Electrician license (#23249) as active this past May. The five written reviews on file span 2017 to 2023 and tell a consistent story. In a 2018 review, a homeowner who says she dealt with plenty of pros while fixing up a newly purchased house called him the only one she'd highly recommend - reliable, easy to reach, reasonably priced, and neat with the work, from installing six ceiling fans to replacing outlets and clearing wiring a previous owner had left exposed. A 2021 review describes the same rhythm: a quick response to a call, a visit to diagnose the issue, then a scheduled return to fix it, leaving the homeowner with a working bathroom fan and light and, in her words, someone she'd keep on call for "all my electrical needs." In a 2022 review, another customer described him installing Wi-Fi thermostats, grounded outlets and new electrical boxes, calling him prompt and thorough about explaining the work, and a 2023 review credits him with a quick response and an on-time, as-agreed outlet repair. Even the oldest review, from 2017, describes an old house's wiring turning up more work than expected - handled, in that customer's account, without a hitch. One thing worth asking about directly: BuildZoom separately lists a Home Improvement Contractor registration under his name that it reports was at one point cancelled, distinct from the active electrician license the rest of the record backs up. For routine electrical work - outlet and switch repairs, fan and lighting installs, panel or breaker box jobs, even a generator hookup - the volume and consistency here stand out for a single-employee operation.

Antonio helped me with the wiring/power outlet repair work at my home. He responded quick and completed the job as needed on time, as agreed.
Antonio helped us install Wi-Fi thermostats, grounded outlets, a new electrical boxes and a few other items. He was prompt and thorough, explaining what he was doing and why. We will definitely hire him again!
Antonio responded to my call for assistance. He made an appointment to come evaluate my issue. Came diagnosed it and made a time to come back and resolve my issue. I have a nice light and fan in my bathroom now. I'm keeping Antonio for all my electrical needs and an old house has many. Thanks Antonio!!
I recently purchased a home, which needed some work done. I've dealt with a lot of pros as a result but Tony is the only one that I would highly recommend. He was very reliable (showing up on the days he said he would), easy to get a hold of, and has reasonable rates. I had him install 6 fans, install coaxial outlets/cable throughout the house, replace an electrical outlet, and take care of some random wires sticking out that were left by the sellers. He was very efficient and neat as far as the work goes. I will definitely call him for future work and will be recommending him to friends and family as well.
Old houses often have wiring surprises. The simple request to replace ceiling fixtures turned out to be a bit more. Antonio handled everything beautifully.
