Apex Tree Care LLC is a tree care business that says it has been in business for 15 years. It lists its service area as Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, Marion, Wareham, New Bedford, Dartmouth, Westport, Freetown, Rochester and Acushnet, and says it works for residential and commercial properties, golf clubs, HOAs, municipalities and parks. It says it offers free estimates and 24/7 emergency service. A 2026 Google review says that after the writers bought a home in Marion, Chris came within days, gave a very reasonable quote to cut down a very large tree that was dead inside, and his team did an impeccable job. In a 2025 review, Apex removed three large trees growing very close to a stone wall; that review says they walked through how they would tackle the removal to protect the wall, cut some of the larger logs into manageable pieces for a fire pit, cleared branches hanging over the house, added supports to another tree, and left the cleanup immaculate. In a 2023 review, after half of a large tree fell in a windstorm, Chris said the tree was weak and sick and advised against keeping what was left; when he took it down, the standing part was cracked internally, and Apex also ground the stump and pruned another tree. A separate 2023 review describes the Apex team taking down 30 trees and grinding over 65 stumps in a job that took about four days. In another 2023 review, his team prepared the area, protected a pool and took down an 85 foot pine with a very small drop zone. A 2025 review of a maple tree removal says they left the stump grinding debris behind instead of raking it into the hole as the proposal stated; he offered to remove it for an additional charge and said leaving it was industry standard practice. A 2026 two-star review says the owner was great but his crew was slow moving and stuck to their phones, and the job came out less than superior.
I can’t recommend Chris and his team highly enough. We just purchased a home in Marion and Chris came within days of meeting us and giving us a very reasonable quote to cut down a very large tree that was dead inside. His team did an impeccable job and were so knowledgeable, clearly tenured and specialized in this field. I will be using Apex for all services tree related and can’t recommend highly enough.
Had some work done recently, the owner was great however his crew was slow moving and stuck to their phones. If he had a more dedicated crew my review would have been better. They were nice but my cameras caught them doing much less than what I would call work putting their boss to shame. The job came out less than superior also probably because they were so distracted.
We recently hired Apex Tree Care to remove three large trees from our yard, and we couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding, and I would give them more than five stars if I could. Right from the beginning, their quote was reasonable and, importantly, accurate. There were no surprises. Three of our trees were growing very close to a stone wall, which was a major concern for us. The team from Apex addressed this immediately, walking us through exactly how they would tackle the removal to protect the wall and clearly explaining our options for the stumps. Their transparency and expertise gave us complete confidence before the work even began. The crew's execution was flawless. They worked safely and efficiently, but what really impressed us was their willingness to go the extra mile. We wanted to keep some of the larger logs for our fire pit, and without hesitation, they cut the pieces into manageable sizes for us to handle ourselves. It was a small gesture that made a huge difference. As part of the job, they also cleared away branches that were hanging over our house and even added supports to another tree that needed a little TLC. This showed that they aren't just a "tree removal" company—they are true arborists who care about the health of your property. Finally, their cleanup was immaculate. You would hardly know such a major job had taken place. They were quick, thorough, and left our yard looking fantastic. If you need any kind of tree service, I wholeheartedly recommend Apex Tree Care. They are professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely great to work with. We will definitely be calling them for any future needs.
The good: They're friendly, polite, and professional. They know what they're doing and have the right equipment to do it. The price was reasonable. The bad: They left a substantial mess. They didn't clean up any of the millings after they ground the stump. It was a considerable maple tree we had removed. It took me 15 filled yard bags to bag up all the stump millings they left behind. Their proposal stated that they would: "Dispose of all debris. Stump grindings will be raked into the hole that is created." Now my understanding of that language means they will fill the hole with millings, and all additional debris will be removed. That's not what happened. They never raked them as the proposal indicates. They left the hole in the ground and all the debris from the stump grinding in a blast radius measuring 30 feet in diameter. When I inquired about this, he did offer to remove them for an additional charge. He then indicated that the proposal said the stump grinding debris would be left behind. I contend it says nothing of the sort. He stated this is industry standard practice. Well, I've used Mike and Mike out of Acushnet, as well as Professional Tree and Landscape, and neither left stump grinding debris behind. IDK what standards he is referencing, but they're certainly not the standards his competition is using. This is really too bad. This compromised what would have otherwise been a 5-star transaction. During our discussion, he also indicated, I’m not the first and won’t be the last to complain. Perhaps you should consider changing your language. “Dispose of all debris” has meaning. What you should say is dispose of tree debris. CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANUP AND DISPOSAL OF STUMP GRINDING DEBRIS. That has a precise meaning and leaves no room for misinterpretation. It’s a shame because they did a good job otherwise, and again, polite and professional. However, what sets a mediocre service provider apart from an exceptional one is that they finish what they start, and they finish strong. This does not check that box. My neighbor across the street needs to have several trees removed. I wonder who he’ll call after having watched me have to clean this up.
Chris and his team did an amazing work at our home! The price was fair, everyone was very friendly and it was scheduled very quickly. I really appreciate your business, and I recommend Chris and his team to everyone! Thank you so much one more time!
