Artisan Hardwood Flooring

Some of Artisan & Son's customers call with a moving truck already booked. In a June 2025 review, a homeowner with a short window before move-in and a limited budget described the plan Long Nguyen came up with: pull the pet-stained carpet out of the bedrooms and put hardwood down in its place. He runs the Malden company, which its site describes as a multigenerational family business, and it does floors and nothing else — installation, dustless sanding, refinishing, repair and custom inlay, in historical buildings and modern homes. On Google the company holds 5★ from 43 ratings, and the customers who write get specific about the hard parts. A January 2025 customer said Long matched new bedroom wood closely to the living room even though that brand had been discontinued. A June 2026 review describes very old water stains in a bedroom coming out in the refinish, with the upstairs hallway the tricky part where the finish had to be feathered. Bigger jobs show up too: about 1,100 square feet refinished with a new room's worth added, in a November 2022 review, and a 2,000-square-foot Melrose condo repaired and refinished in another from February 2022. The history behind that runs long. In a May 2023 review, the owner of a Brookline REMAX office said he had used Artisan for over 15 years and goes to Long with any hardwood question; an August 2026 customer counted seven years of projects together. The Angi accounts are the older half, running 2011 through 2018, while the Google reviews carry the recent years. Price is the one thing that doesn't land the same way twice. A March 2022 customer said Artisan wasn't the lowest quote they received; an October 2024 review called the price reasonable, and back in an April 2012 job they were the lowest bidder. For refinishing tired old boards, matching new wood into rooms that already have floors, or getting a house done before the truck arrives, this is a steady call. Get the quote itemized — sanding, finish coats, any board replacement — and ask how long the finish needs before furniture goes back down.
