Avenergy Electric is an electrical contractor that describes its work as running from small residential repairs to large commercial projects across Southern Maine, and it says it has been in business 20 years. The Maine electrician license MS60019647, held by Joshua Michael Tibbetts, is active on the state registry. A recent Google customer hired the company for a variety of electrical work at the house and said the electrician, Al, explained what he was doing and gave a brief education when asked clarifying questions. A 2026 customer said they came on short notice for a switch that was not working and quickly found and corrected the faulty wiring. A 2020 customer described a project across four apartments involving exterior panel installations and a complete rewiring of the entire building, working with about six crew members spanning months. That 2020 customer called Josh's pricing very fair for the quality of work. In a 2018 review, a customer said they went down a list of small projects and got everything done in a day, coming in under the estimate; that 2018 customer added that on one troublesome project he came up with a different solution that saved time and money. A 2015 customer said Josh Tibbets was patient about a generator installation, and when power was out to a couple of appliances after the installer left, he was back in less than an hour and resolved it. A 2016 customer said the electrician cancelled at the last minute after rescheduling twice. A 2016 customer wrote that drywall was damaged removing an old box and nothing was said, though that customer would hire again. It carries 4.8 stars from 25 ratings on both HomeAdvisor and Angi, and 5 stars from 3 ratings on Google.
Avenergy Electric was recommended to me by a close friend. I engaged them for a variety of electrical work at my house. The electrician (Al) who did the work was a great representative of the company, explained what work he was doing and kindly provided a brief education when I asked clarifying questions. Not only will I be using them again, but I will also be recommending them to my friends and neighbors.
Needed an electrical switch looked at due to not working. Contacted Avenergy Electric and they came in short notice. They quickly discovered and corrected the faulty wiring. Alan who serviced the electric was great! Highly recommend.
