On Thumbtack, the company says it has been installing fence and doing construction for 10 years. A recent Thumbtack customer had Axel Landscaping build a new fence and border and called the price competitive. Another says the replacement fence came out substantially higher than they thought to request and substantially more stable than the earlier one. In a 2023 Angi review, a customer had a 30-year-old wood fence a little over 100 ft long removed and replaced, with the job done in 3 days and some sections customized. A 2026 customer said the team took out a broken vinyl gate and customized a new double gate. The work goes beyond fences. A recent customer who asked for a quote on a tree said they came out that day, a Saturday, then noticed some of the tree was dead, handled that too and removed all the branches. In a 2024 review, a couple had their replacement fence and a stone walkway installed by Axel's team. A recent 1-star Thumbtack review describes a fence post and two panel replacement: the customer said the agreement called for pressure-treated wood, that a neighbor who is a contractor told them the panels were untreated pine, and that Axel acknowledged the discrepancy but refused to rectify it. The total cost was $650. In a 2022 Angi review, a customer said a retaining wall started falling a day later and that no one showed up on the agreed return date. Another 2022 customer wrote that after providing a firm price, they requested more money.
