Axel Landscaping and Fence's own record is split: recent reviews range from a fence replacement praised as taller and sturdier than requested to a report that the material actually installed wasn't what was promised. The Lynn-based company has 11 to 14 years in business per its Thumbtack and BBB listings, and its two review platforms tell different stories — Google shows 3.5★ from 8 ratings, Thumbtack a stronger 4.7★ from 35. A recent fence replacement at a property line came out taller and more stable than the homeowner had asked for, with matching accounts on Google and Thumbtack. But another recent review describes something more serious: after Axel repeatedly confirmed on-site that the fence panels were pressure-treated wood, a neighbor who is a contractor and a Home Depot employee both independently identified the material as untreated pine once it was up. Further back, the pattern is mostly positive — punctual crews, reasonable pricing, and Axel responding directly to requests mid-job, in reviews from 2024 and earlier. But a 2025 review described weeks of chasing the company just for an invoice, and said the crew never came back to glue loose pebbles or fill holes on a finished job. Given how mixed and thin the written record is, get the exact material and finish specified in writing before work starts, and ask for a firm date on any punch-list items. Most reviewers describe a responsive, punctual crew for fencing and yard work — but the two detailed recent complaints, one involving a material substitution, are worth weighing carefully.
These guys are very professional. I would recommend them. I plan on having them my landscaping and patio
I hired Axel Landscaping Company to replace a fence post and two panels. Per our agreement, all materials were to be pressure-treated wood. When the installer, Axel, arrived, I asked him several times to verify the material, and he repeatedly confirmed the material was pressure-treated while on-site. The following day, a neighbor who is a contractor informed me that the panels installed are actually untreated pine. That has also been confirmed by Home Depot employee. I contacted Axel to request that he fulfill the original contract by installing the correct pressure-treated panels. While he acknowledged the discrepancy, he refused to rectify the situation. I will never hire Axel company again. The fence post is covered with a lot of mildew. Axel has used the cheapest materials.
For a fence installation at a property line (between my home and someone's business): an excellent job in every way! Extra nice: this replacement fence being substantially higher than I thought to request, and being substantially more stable than the earlier one (very important in my mind despite also not getting discussed in advance).

Disappointing Experience and sad to leave negative review. We had to chase Axel Landscaping for weeks just to get an invoice, and even after three attempts, they still couldn’t spell our company name correctly. They never returned to complete the job—pebbles were left unglued, and holes weren’t filled. Completely unprofessional and frustrating. I would not recommend them and definitely would not use their services again.
