Ayotte & King describes itself as a family-owned, second-generation commercial and industrial flooring and tile company incorporated in Chicopee in 1963, and as a union shop; its BBB page carries the same 1963 start date and names Ms. Cynthia King as owner. The Chicopee Chamber of Commerce calls it a certified Women's Business Enterprise under Cindy King's leadership, and a Massachusetts state bid table lists the company with a WBE designation alongside its bid.
The customer-facing history is thin and old. Google shows 4.4 stars across 8 ratings, but the only written reviews on file are three from 2018 — a 5-star calling it a "top notch company" with "top of the line products", a 4-star noting a "large show room" and "well informed staff", and a 1-star that says only "Terrible people to work with." A Birdeye page carries an undated comment crediting the company's tile work and specialty marble and calling its staff helpful.
Two things are worth raising before you call. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 104300, is verified expired against the state registry, held in the company's own name; BuildZoom's profile puts the expiry at July 1996 and adds that the status was at one point cancelled. And know who they are built for. Everything the company publishes points at commercial and institutional work — a design showroom stocked for architects, designers and general contractors, and two commercial projects listed on its Procore profile since joining in May 2023 — not at a single-family remodel. If you are a GC or a facilities manager sourcing union tile and flooring in western Massachusetts, this is a long-established shop with a deep local history. If you are a homeowner, ask first whether they take residential work at all, and confirm the registration question directly with the state before signing anything.
