B.Humble Contracting is a small New Hampshire contracting outfit run by an owner reviewers call Chris, hired for roofs, siding, decks and the framing and rot repair that comes with them. The written record is short - eight reviews between 2022 and 2024 - and it splits sharply. On the good side, the accounts are specific. A February 2023 customer with a roof leak wrote that Chris came back promptly, quoted reasonably, then found rot in part of the main roof and photographed the boards as he pulled them off before fixing both problems. A November 2022 customer had the roof of an old three-season porch replaced and then added a rebuilt floor, reframed outside walls, new sheathing, vinyl siding and sixteen new windows, and said the quote was extremely reasonable. Another November 2022 reviewer had siding replaced and a roof knee wall - botched by an earlier contractor - shored up, on time. A landlord who has hired contractors for 24 years wrote in April 2022 that Chris's team had repaired other contractors' shoddy work across several projects. Against that sit two one-star accounts and a warning on Reddit, and they describe the same failure. A September 2022 customer wrote that Chris ghosted them for weeks and months, then built a structure they considered unsafe and walked off the job when asked to build to code. A May 2024 customer said the crew did not finish work to standard, had to be told repeatedly to fix issues, left hundreds of nails in the yard, and had still not returned after eight months of unanswered calls and texts. In January 2024 a commenter on r/newhampshire told someone asking for a southern-NH contractor to stay away, saying the work looks good from the outside but is not structurally sound and will need repair or replacement soon. The disagreement is not about skill - even the negative accounts start with someone who showed up and priced fairly - but about finishing and about coming back. Two separate customers describe being unable to reach the business after payment, and the Reddit warning is about durability rather than appearance. New Hampshire does not register general contractors or roofers statewide, so there is no state licence record to weigh here either way. If you consider hiring them, weigh the good roof-and-rot accounts against the two abandonment complaints: get the scope, the code requirements and the completion date in writing, tie payments to finished stages rather than dates, and ask for recent references you can call from the last year.
“Stay away from B. Humble. I’ve worked with him and he does work that looks good from the outside but really isn’t structurally good and will need repair/replacement relatively quickly.”
Total joke never replies to messages. Check other companies first. Constantly playing on there phones instead of working. Never come back to fix issues. Will not return calls or text messages. Does not finish work to any standards at all. Constantly had to tell them to fix issues. They stop working all the time to play on there phone while leaving cigarette butts all over the ground. TRUST ME GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Still waiting for them to come back and repair what they messed up for 8 months now. But they won't answer calls won't return messages or texts. Nails left all over yard hundreds everywhere. Gutters leak from behind them instead of rain going into gutters. These people do more talking instead of working. PS still waiting after almost 2 years still no word from them at all. They are a weekend company only. Owner is covered in tattoos all.over his face. They still haven't fixed what I found wrong. Still not returning calls or text. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY TRUST ME YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU USE THEM.
We called Bhumble because of a roof leak. Chris the owner contacted us back promptly. We made an appointment for him to look at the problem and give us an estimate. His pricing was very reasonable he started the job but found another problem. Part of my main roof was rotted. He took pictures to show us he showed us the board's as he took them off. He did a fantastic job fixing both problems. I would definitely call BHUMBLE if I need any more roof work done.
Chris from B.Humble Contracting lives by his moto “Quality Work at an Affordable Price”. I hired Chris to replace the roof on my ancient 3-season porch which was leaking buckets every time it rained. Chris’s quote was extremely reasonable, so I had him do additional work in rebuilding the floor, reframing the outside walls, install new sheathing and vinyl siding, and install 16 new windows. I couldn’t be happier with the result and the price. Chris provides quick and fair quotes, shows up when he says he will, and goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done right, and the homeowner is happy. I can’t wait to have Chris help me with a kitchen and bath remodel next year. If you want quality work at an affordable price, look no further than B.Humble Contracting!
Chris gave us a clear timeline and estimate. We had old siding removed and replaced, a wall of siding added, and had a roof knee wall (another contractor had messed up) shored up. He and his team are professional and did amazing work on time. We will use them again. Highly recommend.
BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR For weeks and months Chris has ghosted me. When he finally showed up, he built something that no one in their right mind would consider a safe and steady structure. Demanded he build to code, he gathered his tools and left. He is always on time to discuss and collect a check. Not so much when he has been promising to show up to do the job for weeks on end. Good luck getting it done right. BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR
