Baker Electric & Sons is an Orono electrical company that says it has been in business for 20 years. Its website lists electrical repair, panel installation and upgrades, rewiring, lighting and ceiling fan installation among its services, and it names a service area running from Bangor, Brewer and Old Town out to Ellsworth, Belfast, Lincoln and Dover-Foxcroft. A recent Google customer had an EV charger installed and said Ian showed up on time; the one downside was misguidance on the gauge of wire, and the customer said the work could have been done in one day instead of dragging out a week. A recent Google customer called Zach efficient and conscientious. A 2025 Angi customer said they arrived on time and solved a fire-hazard issue in 15 minutes, but was unprepared for a bill of over $500 and would not book again because of the price. A 2023 Google reviewer who signed as a site superintendent said the owner refused to comply with a clear contract and that multiple phases of the project were left incomplete before moving on to the next 50% payout. A 2016 Angi customer said Kevin replaced a melted exterior outlet and an arcing power cord that powered a pool pump, installing an exterior outlet and switch protected from the weather. A 2016 Angi customer said Kevin measured carefully, explained the work and did it for a reasonable price. A 2017 Angi customer said Mike "was very conscious about our house and his work area" and fixed every one of their problems.
Overall it was a great experience. I am very happy with the work accomplished. The only downside I had was some misguidance on the gauge of wire needed for the EV charger install. Everything could have been done in one day instead of dragging out the work a week. Otherwise, Ian was great! He showed up on time and got the work done in as timely a manner as he could. Even with the issue, I would still recommend this company.
Zach was very efficient and professional. He was very conscientious.
Guys were professional and knew their stuff. Arrived on time, too. Solved my issue in 15 minutes. 'Was completely unprepared for the over $500 bill! My regular electrician was too busy but this was a fire hazard which demanded immediate attention. Wouldn't book with Baker's company again just because of outrageous price.
We have used Baker Electric countless times over the years, and will continue to use them! A very professional, great group of electricians! A++
Worst experience ever with this company. Contract was very clear and owner refused to comply. Payouts based on services complete, so they push for first payout then reduce man power and progress never gets to the 100% mark leaving multiple phases of the project not complete before moving onto the next 50% payout. Do not recommend using this company for any work. T&M he takes his time, adds unnecessary personnel, instructs employees to work slower, and never has a plan in place to meet customer timelines. Lump sum, he doesn’t complete and fails to meet deadlines. James Hartley Site Superintendent
