Balance Electric is a small Shutesbury electrical outfit, and the name that comes up in most of its written reviews is Josh. A 2022 solar customer said he answered phone calls and emails very quickly and helped with parts of the project they were not familiar with. The jobs people describe are varied. In a 2022 Thumbtack review, a customer said Josh wired their sauna, which took a long run of wire through the house, extra safety features and handling the inspection. A July 2022 Google review describes Joshua and Danny putting electricity into three new basement rooms, bringing smoke and CO2 alarms up to code and replacing outdoor lighting front and back, with different options offered at fair pricing. A September 2022 reviewer building a solar array as a DIY project hired them to make the electrical connections; Josh, Danny and Todd worked two long days to complete the wiring and installation, and the customer called the work neat and reasonably priced. Smaller service calls show up too. After a heavy, wet snowstorm, a 2023 reviewer lost a panel of lights; Josh Kindsbury scheduled a visit for the next day and repaired it quickly. In a November 2024 Google review, a customer whose smoke detector would not stop beeping said they came, solved it and did not charge for the visit. A 2022 reviewer with an electrical system they called "a bit of a mess" said Josh was patient and thorough getting to the bottom of the problem. On paper the history is short and all positive: 5 stars from 9 Google ratings and 5.0 from 3 on Thumbtack, with written reviews running from 2022 to 2024. The state registry lists the company's Massachusetts electrician licence, #8273-EL-A1, as expired.

Josh Kindsbury, of Balance Electric responded promptly to my request for service following a heavy, wet snow storm and scheduled a visit the next day. We had lost a panel of lights and he was able to quickly repair the problem. He is professional , knowledgeable and committed to the Shutesbury community. We plan to call upon his services in the future.
I was installing a solar array as a DIY project and needed an electrician to make the electrical connections. I wanted someone who would be able to mesh the parts I completed with the parts requiring an electrician. Josh was very easy to talk to and extremely helpful providing guidance about aspects of the project I was not familiar with. He answered phone calls and responded to emails very quickly. Josh, Danny, and Todd worked two long days to complete the entire wiring and installation of my solar array. Their work was very neat, clean, professional and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Balance Electrical for a job of any size.
Joshua and Danny at Balance Electric installed electricity in 3 new rooms in our basement, brought us up to code on smoke/CO2 alarms, and replaced outdoor lighting in the front and back of the house. They did a great job in giving us different options with fair pricing. The rooms look great and they were dependable, on time, and really listened to what we were looking to do. We are really happy with the work they did and highly recommend them.
