Barbuzzi Landscape Construction is a family-owned North Shore landscaping company based in Swampscott, Massachusetts, serving towns from Lynn and Marblehead to Salem, Peabody, and Boston — the business says it has been caring for residential and commercial properties for over 30 years, and BBB lists it as started in 1994. The written record runs from 2015 to 2020 and describes a range of work. A 2019 review recalled a new, bigger driveway paired with fresh sod and plantings that drew compliments from neighbors and passersby; another from the same year described a patio finished without leaving anything to clean up. A 2019 review praised a leveling and sod job completed entirely before the homeowner got home from work, and a 2018 review described the crew prepping a backyard for a shed installation quickly and at a reasonable price. A December 2015 Houzz review described lawn care and landscaping done well enough that the homeowner also hired the company for leaf clean-up and gutter cleaning beyond the original job. A 2015 news article about a New England blizzard quoted someone from the company on the busier side of snow season for outdoor-service businesses. Not every account is unreserved: a 2018 review, while still calling the crew's work great and the pricing reasonable, noted that a project estimated at two weeks stretched past two months and ran roughly 17% over budget, attributed to weather and other delays — a note that both Angi's and HomeAdvisor's own profile summaries repeat. A 2019 review about restructured yard drainage said the homeowner wouldn't know if the fix held until the next rainstorm, though the company had committed to returning if it didn't. Angi and HomeAdvisor both show a 4.8-star average from 10 reviews, while Google shows 3.7 from 10 — a real gap between platforms. There's also a wrinkle in how long the company says it's been around: the website and BBB point to roughly 30 to 32 years, while an Angi profile summary cites 41 years of experience. For a driveway, patio, sod, or seasonal cleanup job on the North Shore, the specific work described here has held up well; given the one dated account of a job running well past schedule, it's worth pinning down a firm timeline before a larger project begins.
“Blizzard means business: It has closed businesses, stranded commuters and shut or significantly slowed down transportation networks for commerce. But a few businesses are seeing a silver lining to the snow clouds. “From a business point of view, it’s a good thing,” said Michael Barbuzzi, of Barbuzzi Landscaping in Swampscott and Snow Removal Unlimited in Lynn. “It’s just that I would have rather had that 25-inch storm spread out over three storms, not all at once.” Two snowstorms in a week have dumped a record breaking 40.2-inches of snow on Boston between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, the most snowfall”
Job was done in a timely manner and the way we discussed it. Barbuzzi Landscaping completed the job quickly and to the specs.
They are exceptional at what they do!
Work was done as proposed. Work site was cleaned up well. I won’t know if the restructured drainage will work in a rainstorm but have been assured they will return if it doesn’t.
They are a great company to work with. They also added a bigger driveway to our property and did great landscaping with new sod and plants. They are a bunch of hardworking guys and are very professional. Had many compliments from the neighbors and people driving by looking at the difference in the property they made.
Did a beautiful job on leveling and laying sod in my yard and had everything done before I got home from work. Left my yard neat and orderly. Very happy with their work and would highly recommend them!
