New Leaf Landscape Design is a one-person practice run by Cheryl L. Miller, a landscape designer and garden historian based in Swampscott who designs custom gardens and oversees their installation through a group of outside contractors. Her specialty, by her own account, is historically informed landscapes for period homes — she works across Greater Boston and, notably, in Richmond and Central Virginia as well. The one review on file, a recent one, said the work left a garden looking beautiful and recommended her fully. There isn't much of a public track record here yet beyond that single review, so it's worth asking to see photos of past projects, especially any period-home work, before committing.
