In July 2026 a Google reviewer described granite and other stone being fabricated right in front of customers at Barre Tile's South Barre shop. The company says it has been in business 54 years, and its website lists a second location, Barre Tile of New Hampshire, on Mechanic Street in Lebanon, NH. In a January 2024 r/vermont thread, one commenter said they had confirmed the company installs counters with its own Barre Tile and Stone employees, though from reviews it sounded like the tile installation is subcontracted. Another commenter in that thread said the staff took them right into the stone shop, dropped what they were doing, showed them slabs and stayed responsive with questions. In February 2025 an r/vermont commenter wrote that they dropped what they were doing, showed them a bunch of slabs, pulled in a slab they did not have for them to check out, and found similar slabs at better prices. A third January 2024 commenter called them "not the cheapest" but praised the customer service and craftsmanship over several jobs, and another said a quote to install seemed expensive. In May 2023 a customer wrote that the company installed the tile in two bathrooms and the kitchen of their custom home, that its "attention to detail is non existent," and called them "rip-off artists." In September 2023 a customer wrote "Do NOT go to Barre tile": a 6x7 foot kitchen took three months to complete, the bathroom was not being done because the wrong tile was ordered, and the reviewer called the pricing inflated. In June 2024 a reviewer asked about cutting marble countertops they already owned; after days without a reply and a contact who was out, a week later the company emailed that it only cuts its own stone. That reviewer also found the tile options limited. On the friendlier side, a July 2024 reviewer credited the staff's advice with making a hard-to-clean Mexican tile kitchen floor "wonderful." Google shows 4.4 stars from 31 ratings.

Barre Tile is fabulous. Professional and friendly team in a very cool setting, with granite and other stone being fabricated right in front of you. Fun to look at stones and watch the team at work.
You’re men did a great job thanks JJ
Amazing customer service. So kind and knowledgeable. Come here for any project you got and they will point you in the right direction!
I have Mexican tile on my kitchen floor that felt impossible to clean. Now it's wonderful, thanks to the kind advice of these folks. Very grateful!
Very disappointed in this place. I called and spoke to someone about cutting marble countertops that I already have to fit my new space. He said they could do that and all I needed to do was send pictures and measurements and they would give me a quote. I did so, very carefully writing everything out. After several days with no reply, I called and they said the person I spoke to was out for the day and no one else could help me. I called again the next day and he was still out. A week later, I finally got a reply to my email, saying that they were not interested in doing the job after all, since they only cut their own stone. They could have saved me a ton of time and effort if they said that to begin with. I also should add that they have very limited tile options, and not much other tiling materials for sale, so they make it hard to support a local business.
