Barry Brothers Painting & Carpentry is a Methuen-based painting contractor listed by BBB as Barry Bros Painting at 150 Jackson St. The BBB profile says the business was established in 1948 and offers interior and exterior painting for residential and commercial customers, along with related work such as carpentry, plastering, wallpapering, restorations, masonry, walkways, and chimneys. The public review record is small but favorable. Google shows 5 stars from 5 ratings, and the two stored review bodies from 2025 and 2026 are both detailed, positive, and first-hand. One recent repeat customer described whole-house painting, carpentry, rotted siding repairs, deck-frame and step repairs, and added downspouts; another praised exterior painting, woodworking, color-sample help, and thorough work. The main caveat is depth: there are only two stored review bodies in the current record, so the rating is not as battle-tested as a contractor with dozens of recent reviews. BBB gives the company an A+ grade but also says it is not BBB accredited, which is not a complaint by itself but is worth understanding if BBB accreditation matters to the homeowner. They look like a good fit for homeowners seeking an established painting contractor that can also handle carpentry-adjacent exterior repairs. Before booking, confirm the exact scope in writing, especially if the project includes non-painting work such as carpentry, siding repair, plastering, masonry, or chimney/walkway items.

We are very pleased with Barry's work; this is our 2nd. time using Barry for painting and carpentry work; the first one was like 6+ years ago.
This time, in addition to painting the whole house, Barry did additional work repairing some rotted sidings as well as fix some of the rotted deck frames and steps (fixing some work done by other contractors last year for the deck); it is a big deck as well.
Barry did add some additional down spouts to help divert the rain flow from the roof.
We are impressed with his steady and detailed workmanship thru out the job.
We will definitely use him again on next opportunity and will not hesitate to recommend his work.

Kevin Barry and his team did an excellent job woodworking and painting the exterior of our home. Despite the warm weather, they were hard working and very thorough. Kevin is very easy going and spent time allowing us to try different paint colors, including bringing us many samples. He did a great job on the wood work. We highly recommend Barry Brothers Painting & Carpentry!
