Generator installation and service feature repeatedly in accounts of Bartholomew Electric. A January 2026 customer called before a snowstorm because a Kohler generator would not start; they said Danielle connected them with Todd, who arrived within 30 minutes and got it running in under five minutes with a software update. A June 2025 reviewer described Todd helping choose a generator and stay within budget, and said the company could monitor the system remotely. The Enfield company says it has served Connecticut and Massachusetts for nearly forty years, offering residential and commercial electrical work, alarms, standby generators and maintenance. It advertises 24/7 emergency service. Its Connecticut electrician license and Massachusetts electrical business license are active. Google shows a 4.4-star average from 33 ratings, with written accounts spanning 2022–2026. Household electrical work also earns specific praise. A June 2026 customer described several visits, including Dan’s cellar work and Alex’s generator installation, and appreciated patient explanations. That customer also recalled Phil checking a wall-switch color with the office before installing it so the customer could change the choice. In January 2023, a reviewer described Kate diagnosing faulty bathroom switches, replacing them, cleaning an exhaust fan and repairing its light after an afternoon visit arranged that morning. The customer called the work expensive but worthwhile. Some customers describe problems with cleanup, diagnosis and billing. An October 2025 reviewer complained that scrap remained after a job. In June 2023, a customer reported a $625 charge for an outlet replacement without resolving the original issue; they said repeated callbacks did not produce an answer, an additional rewiring estimate was about $2,400, and another contractor later identified the pool light as the issue. A November 2023 reviewer also objected to the company’s use of billable time.
Now that I’ve discovered and used Bartholomew Electric, I would never hire anyone else. The women in the office keeping it all together--Cory, Candi (electric), Danielle (generator) are all extremely knowledgeable, helpful and easy to talk to. There’s none of this waiting days for an electrician to call back. I’ve worked with a few of the electricians at Bartholomew: Phil, Dan and Scott. Plus, Alex for the generator. All were exceptional. Most recently Dan did work in the cellar and was a gem—personable, helpful, thorough and patient. He took the time to explain anything I asked about. Working with Phil in the past, I was pleased that he questioned the color of a wall switch for a fixture I’d selected and rather than using it he took the time to reach out to Candi with images and she in turn reached out to me (I wasn’t at home at the time) so I was able to change the color of the switch. Other electricians would have just slapped it on and gone on their way. The third electrician I’ve worked with, Scott, made a few suggestions for my home (things I knew nothing about) which I very much appreciated. Alex installed a generator and was also helpful, patient -- explaining everything. This is what makes Bartholomew a stand out company--they excel at customer service, they care about the work, they’re neat, careful; they’re patient with clients and want their customers to be satisfied.
Since installing a Kohler generator, we have had nothing but premium service from Bartholomew's office & staff. Danielle keeps everything humming in the office, and each tech, a master. Thanks, too, Scott, for not increasing the price of tune ups in these turbulent times. Appreciated!!
Outstanding response and service!! A big shout out to Danielle & Todd. Danielle took my call immediately in advance of the biggest snow storm so far this season - our Kohler generator wasn't kicking over. Danielle was able to connect with Todd who happened to be on the road for a service call but in the vicinity. Todd stopped by within 30 minutes of my call - how often do you get service like that!? He immediately diagnosed the issue and had the generator running in less than 5 minutes with a software update. Todd knows his way around an engine and is very experienced with Kohler equipment. What an outstanding company. Thank you Danielle & Todd!
