BCP Electric is a one-electrician Worcester shop — Brian Pidgeon, working with an apprentice — that homeowners in the city and its surrounding towns call for panel and service upgrades, old-house rewiring, EV chargers and the small jobs bigger firms put off. The Massachusetts registry confirms electrician licence 8484 active under the name BCP Electric, and the Better Business Bureau grades the business A+ as an accredited member. The pattern across 114 Google ratings averaging 4.9 and more than a hundred written reviews since 2021 is unusually specific: reviewers describe being talked out of work. In a 2025 review a customer sought a second opinion on a large project and was told the work was not needed at all; another describes an estimate revised downward on site once the job turned out smaller than the photos suggested; a third was advised that a 220-volt stove circuit in an older grandfathered building was not worth the permit cost, with a cheaper route recommended instead. Old and awkward houses come up constantly — an 18th-century home wired for a 220-volt kitchen stove, a 1908 house, fuse boxes replaced with 200-amp service, old wiring brought up to code and a ground fault corrected. EV charger installations recur through 2025 and 2026, along with generator transfer switches, ceiling fans and outdoor receptacles. Reviewers also report unusually fast response: a weekend call answered within ninety minutes in a 2025 review, a panel emergency attended an hour after the call, and — when he was working on the Cape — an offer to find someone else who could get there. Worth asking about before you call: reachability on small jobs and price positioning. A July 2026 reviewer left one star saying that when they called about a bathroom fan replacement the person who answered said 'I'm all set' and hung up before they finished their first sentence. And while many reviewers call the pricing fair or reasonable, a Reddit commenter who trusts him plainly says he is not cheap — worth settling the estimate before work starts. For a licensed, careful electrician on an older Worcester-area home — a service upgrade, a rewire, an EV charger — this is a strong, well-documented choice.
“I really liked BCP electric. He’s not cheap and has redone a lot of stuff on my house and I trust him. He even said we shouldn’t do a few re-wires unless we’re remodeling.”
“This post brought me to BCP and Brian and I am so grateful. I recommend!”
“BCP is S tier.”
“Brian does excellent work on my 1908 home.”
“I highly recommend Brian Pidgeon. He based his estimate on discussions and photos I sent him.”
I had consulted Brian for a service upgrade and rewiring my home. I had an old fuse box which didn't have the capacity to run AC in my entire house which is becoming a necessity these days. He was honest in his evaluation and recommended I start with the service upgrade and go from there. The upgrade required a new meter which had unforeseen challenges since it is much larger than the old meter and there was limited space on the exterior of my house to mount it. He worked with the inspector and National Grid to come up with a solution. Despite the extra challenges and the additional labor required, he didn't increase my price. When it came time to rewire, we decided to simply add a couple of new circuits to the existing ones which gave me enough capacity to run AC in my house. He even made sure to get at least one of the circuits installed before an intense heat wave which saved me from roasting in my home. In summary, he didn't try to upsell me and in fact down-sold me from what I originally wanted, he was fair in his pricing despite unforeseen challenges, he took the time to explain what he was doing and adjusted his plan based on my feedback, and he went out of his way to get the work done in time. I would highly recommend giving him a try for any residential work!
I found BCP through a reddit discussion and my husband and I gave him a call at the end of day Friday and he graciously took our call and discussed our situation, which was to install 220 into our kitchen ASAP for a stove. Our house is 18th century and can sometimes pose problems for plumbers, electricians and the like! Brian was able to troubleshoot with my husband on the phone, we provided some pictures and he got us a quote maybe a day later. This guy knows what he's doing and is really responsive. He came out a few days later (we had a delay on our end and he rescheduled for us) and once he and one other guy came out, the job was done remarkably fast. Brian kept us updated the entire time and on top of being super professional, he is also just a cool guy and was easy to talk to. Thanks Brian and Sean for your work! We look forward to giving you future electrical projects at our home!
I called this number about a potential issue about bathroom fan replacement. I had barely finished getting my first sentence out before the person who picked up responded “I’m all set. Thank you and have a great day” then hung up. I was left just shocked at the rudeness of the interaction
Contacted BCP to have 2 ceiling fans installed. Brian responded quickly and gave us great advice on what fans to purchase. Installation was fast and Brian and his apprentice were friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend!
I have hired Brian on a number of occasions for easy things like fixing a light switch to changing me over to 200 amp circuit breakers. He is very professional, on time and thorough with all his work. I would highly recommend him to not only my family, but anyone else who needs a good electrician.
