A septic installation drew praise for step-by-step communication; a house build drew a detailed complaint about workmanship. Belco Construction Co. is based in Westfield, and its website says John Beltrandi IV expanded its residential and commercial site-work and demolition services beginning in 1998. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. In a July 2026 Google review, a customer described John installing a new septic system at their mother's home. The customer said he sent pictures of each stage, kept them informed and answered their questions. They were happy with the results. An August 2026 reviewer described a different experience with their parents' house. They alleged that a quarter-inch crack in the hardwood floor had been filled with putty and that house wrap had been left incomplete beneath a window. The reviewer also said the company ignored their father's calls after the build. Older complaints concerned project management. In May 2017, an earthwork customer reported repeated price increases, delays and missed appearances, saying they fired the contractor two months into the project. An October 2018 reviewer warned that larger jobs could leave a customer short. Google shows 2.8 stars from five ratings.
“His son John “Jay” Beltrandi IV runs Belco Construction Co., another family-owned business since 1996.”
No oversight of workmanship. They built my parents' house and there were complete lack of quality or oversight. They made a 1/4" wide crack in the hardwood floor in the middle of the room and just putty it. But today I found out they didn't even complete the house wrap. They must have ran out of house wrap at the last 3 ft to a corner and decided it's fine to skim on a new roll. AND, THIS IS RIGHT UNDER A WINDOW. They took hundreds of thousand dollars and skimmed on a few dollars for house wrap and wood!!! They are so many more things they did wrong. I remember they would ignore my dad's call after the build. Stay away from this company.
It is rare to find a contractor that checks every single box. John kept me informed the entire way when installing a new septic system at my mother’s home. He sent me pictures so I could see each stage, and answered all my questions. If you are looking for a reliable, professional construction company, look no further. We couldn’t be happier with the results.
We built our forever home with Belco Constructions they were amazing from the turn of the first stone until the handing over of keys. If we were ever to build again we would definitely use Luke and his team. Their eye for detail and keeping us in loop with all the build was faultless.
They do the work... but may leave you short for bigger jobs.
I hired belco to do some earthwork when I was building, the price kept going up constantly and would always delay the project...would not show up. Wheather he does or doesn't do a good job, I can tell as I fired him 2 months in to project.
