Bensonwood is a Walpole home builder, and a local paper has reported it expanding in Keene. On its Houzz profile the company describes itself as rooted in New England's timber-frame tradition and powered by off-site manufacturing. It holds 4.7 stars from 22 Google ratings and 5.0 from 9 on Houzz. A 2016 Houzz reviewer wrote that Bensonwood built the house in sections indoors at its Walpole facility, then delivered and assembled it at the house site. A 2015 reviewer who worked with the company for a client in Westport, CT, whose house Hurricane Sandy demolished, said Bensonwood showed up with four semi-trucks of panel sections and raised the house in four days. A 2014 customer whose timberframe home was built in 2003 said they spent a day in the shop with chisel and mallet cutting joints in their frame, then joined the crew to raise it. A 2017 customer said Bensonwood designed and built their lake home on a small lot with zoning and setback constraints, according to the schedule and cost estimate they first agreed to. A 2016 customer chose one of its Unity designs for a home in Fairlee, VT and said the project managers were responsive before, during and after the build. A 2022 Google reviewer pointed to its focus on building passive homes. A 2025 Reddit commenter put the shell of a home under its Unity brand, which the commenter called the least expensive, at $745-$845k.
