- Tall pine trimming — two 100-foot pines trimmed and the site cleaned up
Four tall dead spruce trees stood between one customer's house and the power lines on the side street, and Black Fern Tree Service took them down. That customer said the climber scaled and topped each tree and dropped each section guided by coworkers below, without touching the zucchini and squash plants underneath. The same customer said every branch and twig that fell was cleaned up, and called the price more than reasonable for the work. On its website, the company lists tree removal, trimming, stump grinding and tree planting, and its stated service area includes South Portland, Windham, Falmouth and Yarmouth. A customer who lives in another state arranged the removal of sick trees and the pruning of mature trees crowding a rental property, and said Brooks was responsive to calls and texts. When that customer saw the property months later, the sick trees were gone and the debris removed, and the customer called the price very reasonable. A customer said the crew took down four precariously placed trees, trimmed two 100-foot pines and cleaned up the site. A customer said Brooks and the crew listened to their trimming goals and cleaned up the site. On Google, Black Fern holds 4.8 stars from 24 ratings.
