Boston Best Construction is a Wakefield general contractor run by Eduardo Muniz, whose name anchors a review history that runs back to 2015 — eleven years, 51 reviews, across eight different platforms. Repeat customers and industry partners are a recurring theme: a kitchen designer wrote in an early-2025 review that she'd worked with Eduardo's crew "many times over the last 15 years," and several reviewers describe hiring the company for a second or third project after an earlier one went well. Bathroom and kitchen remodels are what the record documents most: full bathroom guts, a dormer addition paired with a bathroom renovation finished with zero change orders, a kitchen rebuilt with new cabinets, countertop, backsplash, hardwood floor and island, and — in a 2022 review — a full repair of a previous contractor's shoddy work (crooked walls, unflush baseboards, uneven doors) on a 2,500-square-foot home. Roofing, siding and window replacement, and carpentry work (built-in cabinets, staircase paneling) show up as well, alongside a couple of reviews describing HVAC and electrical-panel work bundled into larger remodels. Two things are worth knowing before calling. First, the Massachusetts Attorney General's office has cited the company for failing to furnish accurate payroll records, misclassifying employees as independent contractors, and denying employees earned sick time — a labor-practices finding, not a complaint about workmanship. Second, the review record isn't uniformly smooth: a May 2026 review describes a project abandoned partway through, incomplete work, an upfront payment the company allegedly kept without finishing or refunding, and a threat of legal action after the customer asked for an adjustment. Two older reviews — 2021 and 2023 — describe a similar pattern on a smaller scale: attentive during the sales process, then hard to reach once a contract was signed, with one customer saying calls and texts went unanswered for weeks. These sit alongside a much larger body of specific, positive accounts spanning over a decade, including several long, detailed multi-year relationships. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and it carries strong platform ratings — 4.8★ on Google (54 ratings), 5.0★ on Houzz (23 ratings), and 4.6★ on Thumbtack (49 ratings).
“Boston Best Construction,”
“failure to furnish true and accurate payroll records, misclassification of employees as independent contractors, and failure to permit employees to earn and use sick time”
Karl, the project manager, was very responsive, and his crew delivered high-quality work on time. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again for my next project.
Overall, I had a positive experience working with Boston Best Construction on my laundromat renovation, though there were some ups and downs. Communication was a strength with a full team supporting the project, but they strictly adhere to the defined scope of work, so an additional permitting requirement was not addressed until near the end, causing delays. They subcontract portions of the work, so I didn't have direct input selecting those vendors, and I had some plumbing-related issues that were ultimately resolved. Overall Boston Best Construction delivered a quality end product.
Absolutely terrible experience. Boston Best Construction performed incomplete and substandard work and left my home in a disruptive and unacceptable condition. The project was abandoned midway, causing significant stress, financial loss, and ongoing disruption to my daily life. After collecting a substantial upfront payment, they refused to complete the work or refund the portion they never finished. Communication quickly broke down, and instead of working toward a resolution, I was met with threats of legal action simply for requesting a fair adjustment based on the incomplete work. What’s especially concerning is that this does not appear to be an isolated incident. Other customers — including Lisa, Sean Kelly, Simba, and others — have shared very similar experiences such as the absence of a general contractor on-site, repeated delays, and unfinished or unresolved work. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to read those reviews carefully. There are also publicly available legal records involving this company, including a case with the Massachusetts Fair Labor Division (you can search for “Boston Best Construction LLC v. Fair Labor Division LB-24-0016” for more information). This entire situation felt extremely unfair and intimidating. No homeowner should have to deal with this level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability. Based on my experience, I strongly urge others to think twice and thoroughly research before hiring. There are far more reliable, honest, and professional contractors out there.
We had a fantastic experience with Eduardo and his team at Boston Best construction. We built a new home addition above our garage. We had an architectural design with us. BBC came with the best quote. They were also very kind and professional throughout the entire project. They had everything well documented through the Builder trend app which was super convenient. They finished everything well within the expected timeline. We love the new space. Shout out to Marcos, Sabrina, Matt, Karl, Renato and above all, Eduardo (the owner). We will certainly go with them for future projects and will highly recommend them to others.
Boston Best handled a complete gutting and remodel of our bathroom, and we are so happy with the results! The whole team was professional, and all the crew members that came in were clean and conscientious. Thank you Boston Best!
