The work runs from whole custom homes down to single rooms: custom home building, kitchen and bathroom renovation, decks, ADUs, millwork and custom cabinets, in-house design, and an ongoing care-and-maintenance service the company offers to past clients. What customers describe most consistently is project management rather than any single trade. In a February 2025 review, a homeowner who remodeled a master bedroom, bath and office called the estimating and project-management process 'super professional' and said that when they needed additions or subtractions mid-job the team turned around options and cost impacts quickly enough to keep the schedule. An April 2024 reviewer who had a load-bearing wall removed and ceilings, walls, floors and trim refinished credited Dominic and Byron by name and said the finished space came together quickly. Another April 2024 customer described multiple projects including a large deck and kitchen renovation on an early-1900s house, praising work that used modern materials while preserving original detail, and a separate April 2024 review said a master bathroom was done by skilled, responsive staff and subcontractors. Design consultant Wendy Robinson is named and praised in two February 2025 reviews. Price is the one thing to plan for. A June 2025 reviewer whose kitchen pantry was remodeled said plainly that MBA was more expensive than other quotes they got, and chose the company on reputation instead; a July 2024 reviewer opened with 'You Get What You Pay For'. Worth knowing too: several of the five-star reviews come from people who work alongside the company — an interior designer describing collaboration on multiple projects, and a reviewer who states 30 years in the home improvement business — rather than from homeowners who hired them. The company's own account of its age does not hold together either: its services page says the family has been building since 1985, while its home page says 'Since 2009' and the BBB records the business as started and incorporated on 29 September 2009. This is a fit for a homeowner planning a substantial renovation, addition or custom build who wants a managed process and is prepared to pay for it. Before signing, ask the company directly how long it has been trading and under which entity, get the estimate itemised the way a 2024 reviewer described, and confirm its current Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and construction supervisor licence with the state.
