Boston Bluestone

Boston Bluestone is a family-owned stone countertop and cabinetry fabricator at 199 Turnpike St in Stoughton, MA, run by Alessandro Santini and, by the company's own account, a third-generation business with roots going back to 1921 that also trades as The Stone Center, Adamo Stone and Freeport Marble & Granite. It holds an A+ grade and BBB accreditation (since 2023), and BuildZoom lists an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor licence (#193646) in Santini's name; Angi shows the same licence expiring in November 2026. The work is fabricating and installing granite, quartz, marble, quartzite, soapstone and porcelain countertops, plus bar tops, fireplaces and custom cabinets. Google rates the company 4.5 from 21 reviews, Angi and HomeAdvisor 4.7 from the same 11 reviews, and Houzz 5.0 from 4. The written reviews date from 2013 to 2020 and describe a shop that trade customers relied on: in 2013 a general contractor wrote about depending on them to hit deadlines on granite tops, in 2014 a designer called them the fabricator and installer of many countertops on their projects, and in 2015 a woodworking shop had them fabricate and install a client's kitchen counter. Homeowners in 2018 to 2020 praised a quartz countertop, sink and faucet install that went smoothly, a kitchen completed in nine days from template, a 3D rendering of a peninsula no other bidder offered, and Simona's patience through several changes of mind on surface selection. A 2016 Boston magazine home feature credited the company with a white rhino marble kitchen island. Two older reviews are worth knowing about. In a December 2019 Angi review a customer gave 2.5 stars after a job delayed by permit issues in 2018, started in October 2019 and ended with a dispute over the contractor saying money was coming out of his own pocket. In a December 2018 review a customer who had them pick up and install a counter bought elsewhere said the pickup slipped a day without notice; the owner replied to both. None of the written reviews is more recent than October 2020, so ask for recent references. Boston Bluestone suits a homeowner in the Stoughton, Canton, Sharon or Brockton area who wants a long-established local fabricator for a kitchen or bath countertop, especially natural stone. Confirm the licence is current, get the schedule and payment terms in writing, and ask about lead time from template to install.
