Boston Kitchen Designs has run out of a Middleton showroom since 1987, and owner George Menihtas is still the person who meets clients for that first walkthrough. The company describes itself as a full-service kitchen and bathroom design and remodeling operation covering the North Shore and Greater Boston, from Danvers and Topsfield out to Lynn and Boston itself. Google carries 44 ratings averaging 4.5 stars, with reviews stretching back to 2021 across half a dozen sites. The two most recent write-ups, both from spring 2026, describe the same pattern: George walks a homeowner through cabinets, layout, and budget before anything gets ordered. One recent customer, buying a condo and unsure where to spend, said George steered them toward the kitchen rather than splitting a tight budget across both rooms — and brought that job in on budget within six weeks. Older reviews echo it, crediting the crew, including lead carpenter Christo, with finishing on time and on budget. The Better Business Bureau gives the company an A+ grade, though its profile is explicit that Boston Kitchen Designs (also filed as Boston Kitchen Distributors) is not a BBB-accredited business. Coverage thins out past Google: Houzz shows no reviews yet, and Consumers' Checkbook lists a single rating, so most of what's known about the actual work comes from one platform. This fits a homeowner planning a kitchen-first remodel who wants one person handling design through installation, rather than a same-day repair call. Worth asking directly: current lead times, and whether the crew work praised in reviews (like the carpentry) is in-house or subcontracted.

George, the President of the Company, came out and introduced himself and took measurements for the first meeting. I did not know much about kitchens, cabinets, etc, so we took a few weeks to really work on the design and come up with a vision. Never felt rushed and I appreciated his attention to detail. Pricing was clear and the project followed the anticipated timeline. If there was ever going to be a change from the original plan, George communicated that to me at every step. His organization with his subcontractors is most likely due to his long-running relationships with them. When he said they were coming to the house, they were there. A+ in terms of communication and an A+ on the finished product. Very happy with the completed Kitchen!

We used Boston Kitchen Designs to do work on a condo that we had just purchased. We were unsure of what we wanted but we knew that the kitchen and the upstairs bathroom were going to need work. Just before closing George did a walk through with us. He had us come back to the showroom a couple of days later and showed us what he had in mind. We ended up going with George’s recommendations and are extremely happy we did. He suggested investing our money in the kitchen, as opposed to trying to do everything with limited funds. George was able to come in on budget and complete the job in six weeks. We had all of the ceiling done (they were popcorn), the entire condo painted (other than the basement), new kitchen cabinets, lighting, countertops, backsplash, new bathroom vanity and cabinets. George was always available, as was his son Philip. They couldn’t have been easier to work with. I am so impressed with the people he hired, all of them were great, and their work was meticulous. Can’t recommend Boston Kitchen Designs highly enough! George and Philip are a fantastic team!

George was a pleasure to work with throughout the renovation of our kitchen. He was patient and attentive during the design process, combining his own expertise with our input to achieve a fantastic result. During construction, his contractors including his lead carpenter Christo did amazing work that was completed on time and within budget. My wife and I would highly recommend George and his team to anyone looking to complete a kitchen remodel project.

Most people post their comments about their experiences with a company or designer immediately when the project is done. I am not like that. I wait a good year to see if the workmanship holds up or any fine tuning is taking care of in a timely manner. Now I can sing George's praises for his design of our kitchen. We love it more than we could ever imagine. We ran into a major set back with our 1893 home. The back wall of our home had to come down and be rebuilt. This was a problem with our house and nothing to do with the work we commissioned. George managed his team and it was rebuilt in a day. We also moved our laundry to the second floor and we love that too. We highly recommend this company and when we can save up enough money I would love them to do a bathroom remodel.

Boston Kitchen was great! We renovated our kitchen in 2019 and George and his crew were fantastic and did a top quality job. In October 2023, when a couple of tiles came loose, George came back and took care of it for us. Truly a great operation with great customer service.
