On a Wednesday in July 2024, the sewer backed up into a customer's cellar. Bouchard Cleaning & Restoration sent a tech that evening, gave a rough cost estimate, came Thursday to do the cleanup, finished in the afternoon, dried it out and sprayed to kill microbes and smell, according to that customer's Google review. The Hampden company's website lists mold assessment and removal, smoke and fire damage services, water damage restoration and clothing restoration, and says it has been in business for 40 years. It lists a service area from Presque Isle to Kittery, and it holds 4.5 stars from 76 Google ratings. In a March 2023 review, a customer who found a soaked basement carpet wrote that a crew came the same day, vacuumed up and removed the wet carpet and treated the basement to prevent mold and mildew. A November 2025 reviewer who had used both Bouchard and Servpro for leaks wrote that Bouchard found the source of the leak and would repair the drywall. In March 2025 a customer wrote that the company was handling cleanup of a second sewer backup at their home. In February 2025 a customer referred by an insurance adjuster after water damage wrote that crews left without saying so, that Josh, the project manager, never called back, and that the missing mitigation report was holding up the insurance claim; the reviewer also wrote that workers left cigarette butts and two bags of debris. In June 2024 a reviewer wrote that the cleanup team responded quickly to frozen-pipe damage at their family camp, but that the reconstruction under PM Jim Curran left buckled flooring, bowed walls and an unaddressed punch list. A November 2025 reviewer wrote that the estimator sent the wrong size insulation, the job ran two days longer than promised, and the estimator then asked for more money. In a July 2022 review, a customer wrote that the people doing mold remediation in their attic said they were not properly certified and used no PPE or filtration. In December 2023 a reviewer who had never used the company wrote that someone driving a company truck gave them the middle finger at a yield sign.
