Brown's Rental Service describes itself as family owned and operated for the last 35 years, located in Bristol, Vermont, and says it services the state and connecting states. A 2023 customer said Brown's took a large, very tricky tree out of their yard and got the job done in a timely manner. A 2021 customer wrote that it moved their 20 by 20 cabin onto a new foundation and that nothing inside was disturbed. A recent customer said he wasn't able to help with their particular job but took the time to point them in the right direction. A 2022 customer who rented a crane on a weekend said the 6-hour minimum was used up by loading, driving, unloading, setup and teardown, and objected to a $300 excavating charge. That 2022 customer also said the excavator broke at their house and was left there for two days, and that the road that was dug up was not put back the way it was before.
What a kind man! He wasn’t able to help with my particular job, but he took the time to point me in the right direction. He certainly didn’t have to do that, and I appreciated his help. Great service!

Rented a crane on a weekend with a 6 hour min (plus an additional $30 a hour for weekend help). owner said this was standard. apparently, the 6 hours you pay for somehow gets used up in how long it takes them to load everything from their location, plus driving, unloading, and setup not to mention teardown of equipment. we were also charged for excavating $300 which he spent an hour doing (for that i could have rented a machine for an entire day). we let it go and said fine. somehow, i had to not only pay for them to set up but then had to pay my own crew to help browns set up and teardown, and reload the machines. on top of that his one guy he brought with him (for an additional $30 an hour) left early and my husband had to drive browns truck back to bristol for him. do you think we were compensated for any of our time with any kind of discount absolutely NOT! the excavator that was brought broke at our house and he had to leave it there for two days and browns was supposed to fill the road back in that he had dug up. we went this morning and the road was not put back the way it was before and its a complete mess! when my husband called him this morning he hung up on him and said he drove over the road several times but we could see one track mark. evidence showed that to be a complete lie. its raining today which means all that loose dirt will be washed out. we will have to rent a machine to fix it now ourselves. WORDS OF ADVICE... FIND SOMEONE ELSE!
Moved our 20 by 20 cabin onto new foundation. Treated it with TLC! Great job. Nothing inside was disturbed in any way.
