Google shows 4.7 from 35 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 5.0 from 6. Set against that are problems a homeowner should weigh before calling. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #209668, is expired on the state registry under Build Smart Masonry & Roofing Corp. The Better Business Bureau profile for that corporation, in Chelsea, carries an F grade for failing to respond to two filed complaints. Two customers describe the same experience from the other end of the phone. A July 2023 reviewer wrote that the phone was not working and emails went unanswered. A January 2026 reviewer wrote "Doesnt answer the phone to remedy the issues" and "Overpriced and low budget craftmanship skips major steps. Do not hire for roofing!". Separately, a June 2024 customer following up on work guaranteed to last 25 years pointed to pictures and wrote that it "clearly shows that Build Smart Masonry did a poor job 2 years ago". For foundation and waterproofing jobs, homeowners here describe thorough work done fast — interior and exterior waterproofing in four days, cracks and window wells handled, a crumbling stone wall stabilised. The complaints run to roofing and to reaching anyone once the crew has gone.
