Sunrooms are what a large share of Building Concepts' customers write about. Seven Google reviews from this year alone describe one: a screen porch converted to a year-round sunroom, a four-season room built on an existing deck, a glass-roofed room the customers now call their favorite, and an old Four Seasons sunroom replaced with a System 230 model by a crew, Lou and Greg, whom the July 2026 reviewer said arrived on time daily and kept the site clean. The Branford company says it has been in business 38 years and lists a service area along the shoreline and inland, from Guilford, Madison and Clinton to Hamden, Cheshire, Milford and Orange. Kitchens and bathrooms fill many of the other reviews. A March 2026 customer had a tub replaced with a walk-in shower, with tile work, plumbing changes, shower doors, grab bars and a folding seat, done exactly on the schedule Jason gave. A December 2025 reviewer had two 70-year-old bathrooms gutted, with rotting floors, walls and ceilings replaced, heated floor tile and new plumbing and electrical. A February 2025 customer said a kitchen was renovated within two weeks. Jason, named in reviews as the project manager or coordinator, is the person customers describe dealing with; Jim is also named in several reviews. The complaints are specific. A January 2026 2-star Google review of a roughly $30,000 kitchen praised the workers and the result but said Jason grew dismissive after the contract was signed, no itemized receipt separating product and labor was given, there were days with no one on site, a section next to the sink came out smaller than promised, a broken counter piece took about a week to resolve, and a job described as 30 days took about two months. In an August 2023 review, a customer happy with a kitchen and bathroom remodel said Jason pulled the crew ready to install pantry shelving to another job, and weeks later the shelves were still not in. In a 2021 Angi review, a longtime customer described the team rebuilding after a tornado hit the house in August 2020, with delays the customer blamed on production holdups and weather. The company holds 4.8 stars from 54 Google ratings, and 4.9 stars from 33 ratings each on Angi and HomeAdvisor. Its written reviews run from 2018 to 2026. It advertises free estimates and says it is insured, and its website lists NHC-0014839. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0637832, is active, held by Building Concepts Inc.
