Five customers reviewed BuildWise Construction this year, and all five landed on the same detail: they always knew what was happening that day. That is the through-line on this Melrose outfit — Gabriel Verona's crew, 19 people by the company's own count and nine years at it, whose recent work is mostly tile and bathrooms. The jobs are described concretely. A kitchen-and-pantry backsplash in July, 51 to 100 square feet of porcelain over drywall. A smaller ceramic backsplash in May that the crew sourced, hauled and coordinated inside a week, with the tile itself set in a single day. In March, a full bathroom demolition and rebuild with new waterproofing and tile alongside a kitchen upgrade covering cabinets, plumbing, electrical and finishes — and that client's most useful note is that the price stayed where it had been agreed. A February client renovating a small bathroom describes being shown each evening what had been finished and what came next. Two things temper the read. All of it sits on Thumbtack and nowhere else: 5.0 from 13 ratings, seven hires, a current Top Pro badge, and a background check on Verona completed in December 2025. And the profile's claim of Massachusetts HIC and CSL registrations plus general liability and workers' compensation coverage is the company's own statement, not something confirmed against the state registry. A reasonable call for a bathroom or a tile job around Melrose, particularly if you want a daily account of progress. Ask for the licence numbers and the insurance certificate before signing — and since fence and gate installation appears only in the list of services the profile offers, ask what fencing they have actually built.

Gabriel and Rene did an excellent job on our shower remodel. They communicated with us at every stage to make sure we were in the loop but also so that everything was done exactly the way we wanted. Gabriel and his team at BuildWise Construction did an outstanding job on both our kitchen and bathroom renovations. From the very beginning, everything was clearly outlined and communicated, and they followed through on exactly what was promised in the scope-from full bathroom demolition and rebuild with new waterproofing and tile, to a detailed kitchen upgrade including cabinet installation, plumbing, electrical, and finishes. What really stood out was the level of communication and transparency throughout the entire process. We always knew what was happening next, any questions were answered quickly, and there were no surprises when it came to pricing-they stayed true to the agreed-upon budget. Gabriel himself is incredibly kind, professional, and easy to work with. His crew was respectful of our home, kept the work areas clean, and made sure everything was completed to a high standard. Beyond that, they even took the time to help with a couple of small items around the house that weren't part of the original scope, which really speaks to the pride they take in their work and their commitment to their clients. Overall, the experience was smooth, honest, and high quality from start to finish. BuildWise was fantastic! Gabriel was communicative through out the process of renovating my small bathroom. Each day he told me what would be done and at the end would show me what was accomplished and what the next day plan was. I will definitely hire him again.
