Burgess Pest Management works out of West Bridgewater and gets called for the routine seasonal stuff — ants marching in, ticks and mosquitoes crowding a yard, a wasp nest in the garage, mice getting into the walls. It has built up 357 reviews across five different sites since 2021, and Google alone has it at 4.8 stars from 679 ratings; the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. This year's reviews keep repeating the same names — Noah, Danny, Dominic, Sam, William, Bob Fox — each called out for showing up on time, explaining what they found, and following through on a second visit if needed. One June review described a wasp nest reported in the morning and cleared by the technician that same visit. A handful of customers mention standing monthly plans covering both the inside and outside of the house, more common in these reviews than a single one-off spray. A few asked for more advance notice before a visit, but that's a minor complaint set against dozens of on-time, no-surprises appointments. Two recent complaints cut against that pattern. In early July, a homeowner said a Burgess termite inspection report tied to a home sale turned out to be an outdated 2004 form with details that didn't match the house — and that the buyer walked away from the deal partly because of it. If a termite or wood-destroying-insect report is riding on a closing date, it's worth confirming how current that inspection actually is before relying on it. Separately, a January reviewer described months of trying to cancel a plan after handing over a credit card — no answer by phone, email, or the site's chat — worth asking about upfront if signing up for ongoing service rather than a single visit. For seasonal ant, tick, or wasp calls, the volume and consistency of the praise makes Burgess a reasonable pick. For anything tied to a real estate deadline or a recurring contract, get the inspection date and the cancellation terms in writing first.

We are trying to sell our house and are in the inspection process. The buyers hired this company to do the pest inspection. The guy came to our house, told me there was no issue inside and then went out to inspect. That night my realtor said that the buyers of our house pulled out of the deal based on the termite report. I hired a company to come here and view the Burgess report. He was shocked to learn it's an outdated form from 2004. It was filled out incorrectly, mentioned mice which it wasn't supposed to and mentions viewing the attic. We don't even have an attic. The pest company I hired only found evidence of termite damage in ONE place under the bulkhead. Thanks to the Burgess employee, he cost us the sale of our house and now I have to spend $825 to have what little damage there is remediated and relist the house. I am absolutely furious. The BBB will be hearing from me and I may have to contact my lawyer to see if we have any claim. Absolutely unacceptable. They cost me the sale of my house and possibly the house we are planning to buy.
