Cape Cod Independent Power

A gas crew and an electrical crew worked together to install one customer's 26 kW whole-house generator in a single day. In that June 2026 Google review, the customer also described a clean site and a startup technician who came the following week to test the system and explain its controls and Kohler app. Cape Cod Independent Power's work centers on standby generators: selling, installing, maintaining and repairing them, with the associated electrical connections and gas piping. The company is based in Mashpee and says it serves Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts. Its website names Lester Wade as its founder in 2005 and Nick Betti as the owner and president who purchased the business in 2017; it says Wade remains active in the company. It also describes itself as an authorized Titanium Kohler dealer. Google showed a 5-star average from 112 ratings in August 2026, and its BBB page carried an A+ grade. Customers describe help beyond putting the generator in place. A different June 2026 customer, prompted by the February blizzard, described Amy arranging a survey, Lester explaining the generator placement, transfer switch and propane connection, and Tony commissioning the completed 20 kW system. That customer said the generator and its app were working well. Another June customer said Nick handled the dealings with National Grid for a property without natural gas, as promised. In March 2026, a homeowner with an eight-year-old Kohler generator said technician Mike got it running again after a storm-related malfunction. That March customer also said Mike planned a one-on-one session to help them understand the generator and troubleshoot it. There are also complaints about maintenance. In an October 2025 Google review, a Generac owner said they waited four months after signing a maintenance contract, then were told during the technician's visit that the company serviced only Kohler generators. Earlier Angi complaints described missed maintenance visits and repair delays in 2013, and a disputed warranty charge followed by unfinished troubleshooting in 2014. The 2013 customer said they had paid for two preventive maintenance visits but received only one, and later asked for a refund. Separately, a January 2025 Cape Cod Times article named the company among the local sponsors of a home-makeover contest.
