Solar Rising is a Mashpee, Massachusetts company that installs and services residential and commercial solar systems — panels, battery storage, EV chargers, and the electrical work behind all of it — and has built a nine-year run of nearly unbroken five-star reviews doing it. It's a locally started company; reviewers describe Neal Holmgren and Angela handling sales, engineering, and administration, with the same names recurring across jobs years apart. Recent reviews describe the range of what the company handles day to day: a storm-damaged, 12-year-old ground-mount array from another, now-gone installer repaired and back up within 24 hours of a Thursday call; a Tesla Powerwall that kept a home powered through a major northeast storm while neighbors went dark; a bad microinverter swapped out on a 27-panel system; and a Tesla wall charger installed at what one customer called a very reasonable price. One customer of eight years says Solar Rising still troubleshoots SolarEdge inverter faults quickly despite living several hours away. The longer written record backs this up with specific, dated jobs. In a 2023 review, a customer who got quotes from eight different solar installers — some of whom wouldn't do a home visit without a signed contract, or gave contract terms that didn't match what they'd said verbally — chose Solar Rising instead. In 2024 reviews, the company installed a system on a newly built short-term-rental property despite the municipality requiring offline permitting, and handled a first solar installation that had gone off without a hitch five years earlier. In 2025 reviews, a customer who says they've worked with all types of contractors over 50 years calls Solar Rising the only one they recommend without reservation, and a repeat customer describes a 2018 installation followed by a second job in 2023. Reviews from 2025 also describe an 8-battery backup system paired with an EV charger and a 36-panel roof installation completed on schedule to the day; a February 2026 review describes a 17-panel system where Solar Rising coordinated permitting across the town, the historic commission, and Eversource. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held by Solar Rising LLC, and its electrician license is separately active under Benjamin Canavan — the two registrations that cover a solar company doing its own electrical work. With an A+ BBB accreditation and a 5.0-star Google page across 148 ratings, this is about as well-documented a track record as a solar installer gets; the main question is which of its services — new installation, battery storage, EV charging, or repair on an existing system — fits what's needed.
“Don't rent, check out Solar Rising”
“We used Solar Rising. It was installed in 2019. Very happy with them.”
“We had Solar Rising install ours last summer and we’ve been 100% happy with them. They take care of all the details. They are a local company, started by two entrepreneurs and I believe they take a lot of pride in what they do. I have 18 panels on my garage roof.”
I hired Solar Rising to clean my solar panels at a very reasonable price, in my opinion. It was well worth keeping me off a ladder! Not only that, their very professional and personable crew uncovered a squirrels' nest under one of the panels, cleared it away, and repaired the damaged done by nibbling, all in the same cleaning visit. To quickly unclamp a panel to work underneath on the wiring, then set it back in place and operational, to me shows real expertise and experience. Without caked-on pollen and sap, my array looks brand new again! I'm very glad that I chose Solar Rising for this task.
They know their industry well. Always cheerful and helpful. Easy to work with.
Great job replacing a bad microinverter on one of our 27 Solar panels. I will be using your crew again for my next repair!
Solar Rising has been an outstanding provider for the past 8 years. Every interaction with them has been great. We have a SolarEdge inverter that’s experienced several faults and they’ve always been quick to troubleshoot and resolve despite the fact that we live several hours away.
I've had several different electrical projects installed by Solar Rising. They are professional, knowledgable and their workmanship is excellent. I highly recommend this company
