Solar Rising

Solar Rising is a Mashpee-based solar installer working across Cape Cod, doing rooftop and ground-mount PV, battery storage, EV chargers and general electrical work, plus service and repair on systems other companies installed. The customer record is unusually deep for a Cape trade business: 113 reviews on file dating back to 2017, a 5-star Google average across 148 ratings, and fifteen reviews in the last six months alone with no negative ones. Just as important, the reviews read like real jobs - a 17-panel roof array where the company handled town, historic commission and Eversource permitting; a 10.7 kW system quoted by Neal Holmgren with what the reviewer called a low-key, no-pressure sales approach; a Tesla wall charger install; and a 2026 panel-cleaning visit where the crew found and cleared a squirrels' nest under a panel and repaired the chewed wiring in the same trip. What comes up again and again is after-sale service, which is the part of solar most homeowners get burned on. In a March 2026 review a homeowner with a storm-damaged 12-year-old array whose original installer was long gone said Solar Rising looked at it within 24 hours and had it running again the following Monday. Another described the team removing and reinstalling a ten-year-old array around a roof replacement, and a third has had inverter faults troubleshooted repeatedly over eight years. Credentials check out at the registry, not just on the website: Massachusetts records an active Home Improvement Contractor registration, HIC 175578, in the name of Solar Rising LLC, and an active electrician licence, number 22750, held by Benjamin Canavan, the master electrician the company names on its own team page. The Better Business Bureau lists the business as accredited with an A+ grade. What is worth asking about is what a near-perfect five-star record cannot tell you: the reviews are overwhelmingly about installs and service calls that went right, so ask directly how a disputed production shortfall or a warranty claim gets handled, and get the production estimate and the equipment warranties in writing. Note too that most of the older written accounts come from Google; the Thumbtack profile carries only two reviews, both from May 2017.
