RCA Electric & Generators, based in Mashpee, is hired across Cape Cod and the South Coast mostly for standby generator sales, installation, and ongoing maintenance, with electrical work such as ductless mini-split installation also showing up in customer accounts. The review record is deep and consistent: 105 reviews collected between 2021 and 2026 across six platforms, and a 4.8-star average from 147 ratings on Google. Customers repeatedly name specific technicians — Casey, Ryan, Joe, Richard, Will, Bill, and Noah, plus office staff like Victoria and Ania — and describe them as professional, thorough, and willing to explain what they're doing. A recurring theme is long-tenure relationships: several homeowners describe having their generator serviced by RCA for ten-plus years, three years, or since an install "several years ago," with the company continuing to maintain systems it didn't originally place. Storm response is a standout: reviewers describe a technician wading through three feet of snow to restart a neighbor's generator the day after a storm, a generator back up within an hour of an emergency call during a Cape storm, and a fix reached within 20 minutes of an emergency call placed during a blizzard. One customer credits owner Randy personally with returning to fix a problem a service technician hadn't resolved. A few things are worth asking about before booking. A 2026 review described a roughly $400 maintenance visit that allegedly skipped checking valves and batteries and left the unit overfilled with oil — worth confirming exactly what a routine maintenance visit covers. Another reviewer described a generator issue that recurred across multiple visits with slow follow-up before it was resolved. Pricing views differ too: most reviewers who mention cost call RCA fairly priced or the best price they found shopping for a generator, but one 2022 review called the pricing "sky high." For homeowners who want one company to sell, install, and maintain a whole-home standby generator — and who care about a fast response when the power goes out during a Cape Cod storm — the review record points to RCA as a dependable, long-tenured choice. It's worth getting a clear, itemized quote and asking what a maintenance visit specifically checks before signing up.
Best Around! We are absolutely thrilled by the quality of work, the professionalism, effort and courtesy of the staff at RCA Electrical Contractors, LLC! From the moment we met the estimator Matt, we could tell by his professionalism, knowledge and willingness to answer any and all of our questions that we were hiring a winning team! Sharon and Marcia at the office were always courteous, timely and extremely helpful with all the scheduling, billing and questions we had. All permitting and inspections were scheduled and handled with ease. When it comes to workers.....well, I don't think you could ever get a better combination than the guys who did the actual install. From start to finish, these guys were at it all day long. From the trenching, generator pad and gen install, to the neat, professional gas, conduit and wiring installation these guys were extremely efficient and worked very well together....it was impressive to say the least. The well-stocked company vehicles as well as the installation equipment are clean and professional and the craftsmanship and quality of work is second to none! Josiah the technician was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. He took the time to answer any questions we had. He performed the final complete test of the system and we can honestly say that we are extremely confident and ready for whatever nature has in store for us....you can't beat that! We would definitely recommend RCA for anyone's emergency generator needs.
We had a technician (Casey) from RCA out to our house to do some work on our generator fuse box. Just wanted to let you know he was GREAT! Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He knew what needed to be done and explained it to us perfectly. He was on time for the appointment, efficient, tidy and had the job done in no time. A pleasure to have in our home!
Ryan, the technician, was fantastic. Knowledgeable and gave me great information on how my generator works and what I can do to keep in running smoothly. Highly recommended.
In this day and age, it's rare to experience exceptional service like that provided by RCA Electric & Generators. I've worked with RCA for almost 5 years, and every facet of their customer experience is A+! They have excelled from the initial proposal to sell the generator, the price, the installation, and service ever since. During this year's blizzard, they continued to provide exceptional leadership in pre-storm communications, in-storm advice and guidance, and up-to-date information and troubleshooting for those who needed it. Thankfully, our Generac ran flawlessly for 4+ days and kept my home safe. I could not recommend RCA more highly—thank you, RCA!
For 400+ dollars a service RCA does not check or adjust your valves, they do not test clean or spray batteries, I have found many units overfilled with oil, fuel pins not cleaned or lubed. This is just TERRIBLE SERVICE WITH NO WORK ETHIC. I have seen bottles left inside units, found sets of keys inside units along with tools and many other things! Don’t get scammed!
