Carpet Barn Carpet One Floor & Home has been a family-owned flooring business on Cape Cod since 1971, and its written record — 39 reviews across six sources going back to 2016 — reads almost like a running list of repeat customers naming the same handful of sales associates by name. Bill Gasson comes up more than anyone else: reviewers describe him as knowledgeable, patient, and specifically low-pressure, walking customers through the differences between carpet brands, padding, and installation timing rather than pushing a sale. One reviewer, a landlord managing rental units, said they returned to Bill on a repeat job because of that same steady service; another, working with a 100-year-old house full of crooked pie-shaped stairs, credited him with guiding a project other stores might have found too complicated. Kyle Buckminster draws similarly specific praise — a local realtor said in a 2021 review that they'd worked with him for about two decades and clients "always walk away very happy," and, in a 2023 review, an apartment owner described relying on his judgment across multiple projects over several years. Installation gets its own steady stream of praise: reviewers describe crews moving furniture before the job and putting it back after, finishing on or ahead of schedule, and delivering carpet earlier than promised. Older reviews on Houzz, from 2016, describe a different associate, Shannon Sylvester, in the same terms — responsive, professional, and willing to travel well outside Falmouth for a project. Two things are worth knowing before visiting the showroom. In a 2024 review, a shopper described witnessing the owner being rude to an older couple in the store — not their own transaction, but a real account of in-store conduct. And in a February 2026 review, a customer described a frustrating installation day: they had to make their own calls to chase down updates, even though the job itself ultimately got done. For carpet, hardwood, tile, and other flooring on Cape Cod, Carpet Barn's track record is unusually personal and consistent — ask for Bill or Kyle by name if a past reviewer's experience sounds like what you want, and it's fair to ask directly how the store handles day-of communication if that's a priority for you.
Superb quality of service.. can’t go wrong ! Bill was always delightful to work with. He is a great listener, he knows his products and helped steer me in the right direction! Couldn’t have done it without him!! Thanks Bill!
Great experience Loading dock crew was very nice and helpful when i went to pick up my order
Hallelujah! The installation was done today but (1) my wife had to leave 1/2 hour late for her appointment & I had already left for my appointment, and (2) I shouldn't have had to resort to my angry New Yorker persona here on Cape Cod. I had to make all the calls to obtain updates & push to get promises kept. I always thought the vendor should initiate calls to keep the customer up-to-date and push its subcontractor to deliver on installation promises made to the customer. Anyway, the carpet looks nice & it's all over. We ordered our new carpet in December - plenty of time in advance of our February installation date. We scheduled installation for early yesterday 2/11/2026. Didn't happen. Then we were told it would be yesterday afternoon. Didn't happen. Then we were promised installation arrival by 7:30/8:00 AM today 2/12/2026. Didn't happen. Our salesman doesn't know where the installers are this morning but said he will TRY to reach them (I'm not hopeful). Now we need to reschedule other work because of the delays. I saw some bad reviews online but this place was recommended by some friends. I guess their good experience was an aberration.
Very nice people
We needed to carpet a basement level in our new home. We want to support small businesses, so off we went to Carpet Barn in Falmouth and worked with Bill Gasson. First, the selection was amazing! I was greeted by professional staff that asked probing questions in an effort to be certain I made an appropriate selection, real care with the customer and product, you will NEVER get that from Lowes or the like, from the salesperson who works between flooring and mixing paint colors. I made a selection. The installers were extremely professional, arrived at 7:45 and finished at 9:45. There was communication, followup, and I received a note of thanks at the conclusion. Lowes, with their part time paint guy, will never give you the customer service you will get from this small business.
