Eric Carter has been refinishing and installing hardwood floors around Middleborough long enough that one 2026 review recalls him instantly remembering a customer's house and its floors from years earlier — the kind of relationship that keeps showing up across more than fifty reviews spanning 2021 to 2026, every one of them five stars. He and his crew — his son Zach and installer Kevin both get named credit in different years — handle everything from historic homes to unusual jobs: sanding a summer-camp stage that had gone 35 years without attention in a June 2026 review, refurbishing a shuffleboard table at the Middleboro Elks Lodge, and matching new oak into existing flooring so the seam disappears. What reviewers keep coming back to is responsiveness under pressure. A 2023 review describes Erik rearranging his Thanksgiving-week schedule to finish a floor so a family could move in on time; a 2022 review describes him arriving within two hours after a vendor scratched a just-finished floor to fix it on the spot; a 2024 review describes him helping a customer chase down an insurance claim after a delivery company damaged their floors. Several reviewers mention working with him for years — one 2022 review says the family had trusted him with their floors for 17 years — and the specifics recur across dozens of accounts: on-time arrivals, thorough cleanup, clear communication about pricing, and finished floors reviewers describe as looking new even on rooms that had been carpeted or damaged for decades. There isn't a negative account here to weigh against that — the five most recent reviews, from the last six months, keep the same pattern going. The one thing worth asking about directly is scheduling, since demand for this kind of hands-on, one-crew refinishing work clearly runs high and reviewers describe booking well ahead except in genuine emergencies. For anyone with older hardwood that needs bringing back, or a historic floor with decades of wear, this is a refinishing specialist with an unusually long, specific, and consistent track record behind him.

Carters Hardwood Flooring sanded and refinished our stage at our summer camp. It had been in use for 35 years without any attention in that time. The oak flooring is now gleaming, like a new floor. The workmanship is beautiful, the project was completed on time, and on budget! We would highly recommend Carters Hardwood Flooring for your wood flooring needs!
We had an awesome experience using Carter Hardwood! Eric was timely, professional and went above and beyond! They vacuumed after the job cleaning up everything and even returned a box of wood not needed for a credit back. I would definitely recommend Eric to do any hardwood job in your home or business!
Knowledgeable and professional!
Eric Carter did an amazing job refinishing our 1800s pine floors in 2018. He was hardworking, knowledgable, friendly, and professional. We needed to fix a repair in 2026 and called to ask him a question about our floors. He immediately remembered our house, our floors, and the products he used (and even our kids haha). I cannot recommend him enough!
John and Eric did a fantastic job on my home in Falmouth. They worked with me on a price and made sure I got what I was looking for. They got me in right away. John even went above and beyond and helped me when I had an issue at the house. Floors look great. Great company to work with.
