Carters Hardwood Floors has racked up 56 five-star ratings on Google, and the seven reviews from just the past six months keep telling the same story: zero complaints. Based in Middleborough, the company is built around one thing — sanding, refinishing, and installing hardwood floors — largely run by Eric (Erik) Carter, working alongside an assistant named John on bigger jobs. The recent work covers real range. One customer had a stage floor at a summer camp that hadn't been touched in 35 years; the crew sanded and refinished the oak back to a like-new shine, on time and on budget. Another homeowner had new hardwood installed and noted the crew vacuumed up afterward and even credited back a box of unused wood. A third called in 2026 with a question about floors Eric had refinished back in 2018 — 1800s pine boards — and he remembered the house, the floor, and the exact products used without missing a beat. Someone in Falmouth got the crew in fast and worked out pricing that fit their budget; another had an old, damaged floor rescued to a condition better than expected. None of that is a fluke of a good stretch — the broader history runs 52 reviews from 2021 through 2026, all landing the same positive way, so this isn't a business coasting on a handful of lucky reviews. A couple of things are worth checking before you call: one business-listing audit flags the company as having no website, even though other directory mentions point to a company domain, so confirm the best way to reach them directly. There's also a stray directory listing placing the business in Brockton rather than Middleborough — worth double-checking the address and service area when setting up an estimate, since it may be an outdated or duplicate listing. For hardwood floor refinishing or installation — especially older or damaged floors other companies might not want to touch — this is a contractor with a long, consistently positive record behind it. Confirm the current address and get a written estimate; the volume of praise here suggests you're in good hands.

Carters Hardwood Flooring sanded and refinished our stage at our summer camp. It had been in use for 35 years without any attention in that time. The oak flooring is now gleaming, like a new floor. The workmanship is beautiful, the project was completed on time, and on budget! We would highly recommend Carters Hardwood Flooring for your wood flooring needs!

We had an awesome experience using Carter Hardwood! Eric was timely, professional and went above and beyond! They vacuumed after the job cleaning up everything and even returned a box of wood not needed for a credit back. I would definitely recommend Eric to do any hardwood job in your home or business!

Eric Carter did an amazing job refinishing our 1800s pine floors in 2018. He was hardworking, knowledgable, friendly, and professional. We needed to fix a repair in 2026 and called to ask him a question about our floors. He immediately remembered our house, our floors, and the products he used (and even our kids haha). I cannot recommend him enough!

John and Eric did a fantastic job on my home in Falmouth. They worked with me on a price and made sure I got what I was looking for. They got me in right away. John even went above and beyond and helped me when I had an issue at the house. Floors look great. Great company to work with.
