Cazeault Solar & Home built a strong reputation in Gloucester on solar installations and roof work — five-star reviews from 2021 through 2024 repeatedly praised responsive crews, clean installs, and staff who handled permitting and utility coordination without customers lifting a finger. The company holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and the Better Business Bureau lists it as a GAF Master Elite roofing contractor. That reputation has taken a sharp turn. Starting in late 2024 and running through 2025, a run of one-star reviews describes a very different company: solar panels offline for months with no repair crew to send, an inverter failure that took six months just to get a diagnosis, and a SPAN battery panel that never worked correctly despite repeated calls. One reviewer, writing on the Better Business Bureau, said the company "were very responsive until they were recently purchased by another company" and are now largely unreachable except through an offshore call center — which lines up with the Bureau's current F grade and four open complaints. Separately, a 2025 reviewer identifying as a subcontractor said Cazeault had not paid for completed roof replacement work. Anyone hiring Cazeault today should treat the years of praised solar and roofing installs as describing an earlier version of the company, and press hard on who handles service calls and warranty repairs now — that appears to be where things have broken down.
“A Qcells solar panel is displayed for Reuters at Cazeault Solar and Home in Gloucester, Massachusetts, U.S., March 18, 2024.”
“Tim Sanborn of Cazeault Solar & Home was the driving force behind the project.”
“Cazeault Solar & Home is the best company I have worked with. Everyone is top notch.”
“The entire process with Cazeault Solar & Home was seamless with no effort and no sweat by us! Jon and the Cazeault team were great.”
“Glen Asaro, owner of Sunbanque, has signed an agreement with Cazeault Solar and Home to put solar on his Sunbanque office, located at 156 Prospect St. in Gloucester.”
Unfortunately, they do not pay their subcontractors in the roofing space. Roof replacements were completed about a year a go and we still have not been paid. They ignore us and don't respond anymore. This is horrible for small business because it affects us deeply and affects the homeowners because they won't be able to get a full warranty on their roof since the roof was never paid by Cazeault. Be very careful before hiring a company that does not pay their subcontractors. Subcontractors can put a lien on your home if they are not paid.
We had solar panels installed in 2024, 1 of the panels has not worked since July 2024, we have reached out via email, phone no one will respond to our repair needs. This company doesn't stand by their work
Our panels are off line and have been for months. The company has no service people to send out to fix the problem. Not good
Choose them since they were local and a family business but ...Sales team was great, Mike the tech was awsome, install for the solar and battery went well, however SPAN panel that they installed doesn't work correctly, after many calls still no solution but they want me to pay the final installment even tho the system is not working properly. Reached out to Joy, which was my contact and the contact on the website, she is no longer there along with many of the other people I dealt with. Her auto response redirects you to Alvin at another company but the email gets bounced back since the email adress doesn't exist. The family business sold to the bigger guy, and my choice to go local and a family business was not worth it. Buyer beware....
I had a very disappointing experience with Cazeault Solar & Home. They installed my solar system five years ago, and when the inverter failed, it took them six months to inform me that they couldn’t fix it. During this time, I called and called with "they needed to consult with upper management" basically they do not have any service people working. Ultimately, I had to seek help from another company to resolve the issue. Based on my experience, I would not recommend their services!!!!
