The operation traces back to Century 21 Hughes, started by David Hughes and his mother, Shirley, and the company says it has served clients for more than 40 years under one name or the other. The sharper reads live at the agent level: on Zillow this spring, Nicholas Newhall carried a 4.8 over 7 reviews and Patricia Torto a 4.7 over 6, with several teammates at 5.0 on smaller counts. For a brokerage with dozens of agents, the office-wide rating tells you less than the person who would actually handle your deal. Ask which agent you'd be paired with, then check that agent's own reviews and recent sales in your town before signing a listing or buyer agreement.
