Chavez Construction Company

Ask about Chavez Construction in Everett and it is Segundo Chavez's name that comes back, not the company's. On Google the business holds 4.9 stars from 27 ratings, with twenty written reviews running from 2023 into 2026, and the same story repeats: someone hires him for one room, then calls him back for the next. One reviewer writing in August 2025 said he had handled projects for them over the last 20 years. The work people describe is whole rooms and whole houses. A May 2026 review tells of a kitchen repaired after a water leak wrecked a renovation done only three years earlier — the customer wrote that it looks better than it did before. An August 2025 review covers an accessory dwelling unit built in Lexington, a complicated job the couple kept changing their minds about, and they said Segundo cheerfully accommodated the changes. Another from August 2025 runs through roughly 80 percent of a house renovated in 2024: kitchen and bathrooms, full dormers, hardwood floors, redesigned stairs. Several reviewers talk about timing. Another May 2026 review describes the crew arriving on time every day, keeping the workspace clean and finishing right on schedule; a November 2025 review about a roof and exterior doors credits the precautions taken to protect the house and calls the install timely from proposal to completion; a homeowner writing in August 2025 had an estimate within a day of calling. The Better Business Bureau grades the business A+. The company's account of its own beginnings moves around. Its site says Chavez Construction Corp started in November 2001, founded by Segundo and Victor Chavez; its Houzz page says Segundo has led the company since 1998, and the Better Business Bureau file records a 1999 start. Its stated service area on Houzz runs to Cambridge, Somerville, Lexington, Arlington, Winthrop and Newton rather than Everett's own neighbours, so ask early whether your town is one they travel to. For a multi-room remodel or an addition where one crew carries the whole job, Chavez is a straightforward call. Get the company's registration number and insurance onto the contract, and ask for the schedule and the payment stages in the proposal before anyone starts.
