On 25 August 2026, two Google reviewers praised Tmega Construction's crew — and a third, posting the same day, said the company is not fully licensed, asks for more money without any reason, and would not share its insurance policy and bond. The company describes itself as a Boston general construction and remodeling contractor working across Greater Boston, taking interior and exterior renovations, home additions and general repair work, with nine years in business self-reported on its site. Its Thumbtack profile lists the owner as Tiago Da Silva, based in Chelsea, with 89 projects and a service list that runs from siding and painting to finish carpentry and flooring. The positive accounts are short and warm. One August 2026 customer wrote that Thiago and his crew did a wonderful job at their house and singled out his responsibility and the quality of his work; another the same day described a team that stayed attentive step by step through the project. In January 2026, a customer called the outfit reliable, hardworking and easy to deal with, and said they were happy with how everything turned out. The complaints are recent and they are about money and paperwork rather than craftsmanship. Alongside the 25 August Google review, a Thumbtack review posted three days earlier made the same charge — that the general contractor is not licensed and continuously asks for money — and called the business a scam. Both of those reviewers also assert that the company's positive reviews are fake. The platform numbers carry that split: Google 4.3 stars from six ratings, Thumbtack 4.0 from four, three of them five-star and one one-star. If you are considering them for a renovation or an addition, settle the paperwork before anything else — ask for the licence number, a certificate of insurance and the bond, the exact documents an August 2026 reviewer said were not shared. Then fix the price and a written change-order process in the contract, so that a request for more money has to be justified in writing rather than asked for mid-job.
Tmega is an excellent company, a lot of quality and competence, very professional team, always very attentive with step by step with our project.
Tmega Construction is just an amazing company. Thiago and his crew did a wonderful job at my house . I highly recommend his company to all my friends and my family. What was the best was his responsibility and quality on his work. Keep it on mind if you ever need it construction and renovation work they are the best.
This company has a bunch of fake reviews below. They just ask for more money without any reason. They are not even fully license and would not share this insurance policy and bond.
Scam. All their reviews are fake. Horrible people to deal with and work with. The general contractor isn’t even licensed and continuously asks for money.
Great team work!
