About $1,200 to bring a 2,500-square-foot house's attic to R60 — that is what a Reddit commenter said in September 2025 that Chey Insulation had charged their parents "last fall," and they called the price very reasonable. The Canaan, New Hampshire company works both ends of the trade: fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool and spray foam in houses across New Hampshire and Vermont, plus a commercial book its Procore profile puts at 404 projects since 2022. Its own site claims over 20 years at it, and the BBB lists the corporation as incorporated in 2005. Several of the five-star reviews land on the same thing — a crew that turns up when it said it would and bills what it quoted. "They did what they said they would, when they said they would, and at the price they said they would," an August 2026 customer wrote. In October 2023, a customer had spray foam put around a mobile home's skirting on short notice and said the estimate was accurate with no surprises. Another August 2026 reviewer named Jordan as the lead on a newly constructed building and said the company explained every step of the process; a December 2023 reviewer credited Fred and Codie for an attic blow-in with light covers installed. The friction shows up around scheduling, and twice around the work itself. A March 2026 customer who hired them for a "drill and fill" soundproofing job in two rooms said the two workers canceled the scheduled Thursday and rescheduled at the last minute for the next day; a July 2026 reviewer ran into a mix-up with the scheduling office over prep work, which the first-phase crew sorted out. Two one-star reviews from 2024 are heavier: in December, a customer wrote that Chey insulated their house without venting it and that an expensive air-handling system is now needed; in October, someone who followed the company's work on a commercial job said they had to redo most of what was left behind. A June 2026 homeowner who had Chey assigned through the NH Saves program left two stars. For an attic, a retrofit or spray-foam work at a quoted price, this is a long-established Upper Valley option with a deep commercial résumé behind it. Before signing, ask how ventilation and air sealing will be handled for your specific house — that is what the December 2024 complaint turned on — and get the scheduling dates and the estimate in writing.

Chey Insulation did an outstanding job insulating a newly constructed building. They used high quality materials, had excellent staff (Jordan was the lead), and communicated every step of the process. You won't be disappointed! Give them a try. You will be pleased.

First phase crew Jayln & Dan did a top notch job! We had a little miscommunication with the prep work with the scheduling office but they navigated it and made quick clean work of prep to get us set for insulation!
I debated on writing this review but felt it was necessary to share our experience with Chey Insulation. My husband and I went through the NH Saves program to have insulation installed at our home and Chey Insulation was chosen as our contractor. Throughout the process, communication was difficult and it took multiple attempts of us reaching out to get responses. Our home energy audit was completed on April 23rd and we did not receive an estimate for the needed work until June 4th. The home energy audit itself went well and the two individuals that completed it were very friendly and knowledgeable. During the time frame of April 23rd-June 4th, my husband and I reached out to inquire about the estimate at least 3 times with no response received. It took us notifying NH Saves that we wanted to work with a different contractor for us to finally receive a response from Chey Insulation. Upon receiving the estimate by email, we were initially sent a different customer’s estimate. When I reached back out to request our estimate, it was sent and I noted it had been written the day before on June 3rd. It shouldn’t have to take your customers reaching out multiple times for over a month just to get their estimate. The overall experience was frustrating and time consuming on our end. I hope Chey Insulation takes my review seriously to look at how they could improve communication with potential customers.
We hired Chey to do a 'drill and fill' insulation in 2 rooms in our house for soundproofing. The 2 workers were supposed to come on a Thursday but canceled and rescheduled at the very last minute for the next day. When they arrived, they were generally friendly. However, throughout the day, they left a literal dust storm with drywall debris and mineral wool everywhere. Initially, they didn't want to clean up until we spoke with their supervisor who told them to go out and buy a shop-vac at Home Depot. They came back from Home Depot with a bit of an attitude towards us. We were also told they were going to plug the 63 holes created in our ceiling with fiberglass - which they also didn't want to do until we spoke with their supervisor once again. After they did their 'cleaning' and left, we found mineral wool, dust, and debris that had blown into other unintended areas of the house - which required an additional 3 hours of cleaning on our part. Chey's pricing was well below other estimates but we would definitely not use them again nor recommend them. UPDATE: The owner did speak with me a few days later to listen and provide a 10% refund.
