In an October 2024 Angi review of Chik's Painting, a customer says an in-person estimate came as soon as they called, work began within days, and the crew caulked all the windows and washed them when they were done. The Thomaston company describes itself on its BBB page as an interior and exterior painter for residential and commercial clients that also does restoration work tied to painting projects. John Chik is named by customers going back to 2016. An August 2017 reviewer says he was flexible in difficult scheduling circumstances and communicated well, and that his crew was neat and polite. In a December 2017 review, a customer whose elderly parents had ceilings and walls painted says John suggested lighter shades of their chosen colors and the crew finished ahead of schedule, cleaning up daily. An October 2017 reviewer says he suggested a paint type they had not considered and left a can for touch-ups. A March 2016 reviewer had all rooms and trim painted, nail pops fixed and patches covered, and says the painters came back to fix areas that needed more attention. HomeAdvisor and Angi each show 4.9 stars from 14 ratings, and Google shows 4.3 from 3. Its BBB grade is A+. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0673003, is active in the state registry, held by Chik's Painting.

Excellent crew. Very professional. I received an in person estimate as soon as I called and work began within days. They showed great pride in their work. I was extremely pleased with the results. They caulked all windows and even washed them when they were done! My house never looked so good!
Chick painted my parents ceilings & walls last week.My parents are elderly and very particular on who the let into their home. They loved how the job came out and also how they were treated by John and his crew. They were all very professional & left the work site clean & picked up daily. They paint fast & even finished before schedule. John even offered a lighter shade of colors they picked making the rooms look bigger and warmer. My parents and I were greatly pleased with their work.
professional, timely, and knowledgeable - he suggested a type of paint I hadn't considered, and also offered advice on how to handle inevitable 'patch up' painting, leaving me with a can of the paint he used.
Best painters I've hired. Very fair price. Solid pro crew, they have clearly painted for a long time. Fast and good. Take a lot of pride in what they do.
John Chik is flexible and accommodating in difficult scheduling circumstances and communicates very effectively. His crew was neat and polite. The house looks great and the little details are all handled professionally. I recommend him highly.
