Chimney Corners is a Norwalk chimney company that says it has serviced over 20,000 homes in the Southwestern Connecticut area since it was established in 1991. Its BBB profile describes chimney and dryer vent services, including sweeping, cleaning and inspections, and the BBB lists it as accredited with an A+ grade. On Google it holds 3.4 stars from 18 ratings. A 2021 customer said Chimney Corners came out to clean two fireplaces, one of them originally built as a hibachi-style wood burning oven, and charged for only one. That 2021 customer also said they gave honest and thorough advice and didn't try to upsell. A 2023 customer said they looked at 4 flues and were told two needed to be cleaned. A 2023 customer said Gavin the owner and his crews were proactive in keeping their flues safe and clean. On Reddit, a 2024 r/StamfordCT commenter wrote that they had been using Chimney Corners in Norwalk, and that it cleans wood stoves but does not install them. A 2025 r/norwalk comment called Gavin Duffy very honest, and a recent r/StamfordCT comment suggested trying Chimney Corners in Norwalk. A 2025 customer said a large, heavy vacuum cleaner was slammed down the stairs and badly scratched their wood floors, and that the chimney was cleaned only from inside the fireplace, not from the top. A 2025 caller trying to book a chimney cleaning for a recently purchased home said they were abruptly told the company doesn't do "real estate cleanings." A 2022 customer objected that the technician took off his shoes and was barefoot in the house. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0542949, as active, held by Chimney Corners Service.
“I would try Chimney Corners in Norwalk.”
“Chimney corners Gavin Duffy very honest”
“We've been using Chimney Corners in Norwalk since then. They've been great. We also just installed a wood stove and they had a recommendation for an installer (they clean wood stoves but don't install).”
Scratched badly my wood floors by slamming large, heavy vacuum cleaner down stairs instead of lifting it. Only cleaned chimney from inside fireplace, not from top of chimney. Would not recommend.
I called to schedule a chimney cleaning for a home I recently purchased, but before I could even explain the situation, I was abruptly told they don’t do “real estate cleanings.” I found this response confusing, as my goal was to find a reliable local company for an initial sweep before moving in, followed by regular annual maintenance. It’s hard to understand how they attract new customers with such a dismissive and unwelcoming approach.
Chimney Corners was pleasant to deal with and very thorough. They came highly recommended and didn't disapoint. They did great work and educated me at the same time. I will use them every year!
They came to my house and looked at 4 flu’s. Told me only two needed to be cleaned. They were on time, courteous and professional. Pricing seemed reasonable and I fully plan to use them again next year. Thank you!
My experience with Chimney Corners over the last 5 years since moving into our home has been wonderful. Gavin the owner and his crews who come out depending on the year, are so professional, kind, and proactive in keeping our flues safe and clean. I’m always happy when they visit our home to keep our chimney’s safe! They also service my parent’s chimney down the street and treat them so kindly, too. Thank you Chimney Corners!
