Call in the morning and, in one February 2018 account, CL Electric was at the door four hours later to fix a socket wiring problem. More than half the reviews of this Holliston shop turn on some version of that — arrived on time, done ahead of the estimate, call returned within minutes — and Chris, named in about half of them, is usually the one doing the work. The BBB lists the company at 12 years in business and grades it A+; its Massachusetts electrician licence, #8846, is active on the state registry.
A lot of the work is about adding capacity to a house. A September 2026 review covers several jobs at one home — 240-volt outlets for an induction stove and a level 2 EV charger — and calls the quote "very competitive," with good communication throughout. A December 2024 review describes another 240-volt outlet installation, at fair pricing and a quick turnaround. Further back, a November 2016 customer had service upgraded from 100 to 200 amps, the hanging wires in the basement cleaned up and flood lights put in out back; in September 2016 another had a second-floor apartment rewired between tenants; in March 2018 a homeowner had a service line replaced and a fuse box updated.
The small jobs read the same way. One March 2018 review describes two visits: the first to chase a breaker that kept tripping, which he isolated to a faulty breaker, the second to install a bathroom fan. A January 2018 customer had an outlet added for a garage door opener and the work finished before the estimate. In October 2017, someone with an old house had a ceiling fan with a remote installed and an existing fixture moved, and credits Chris with sorting out the fan switch and remote.
Two things to settle before booking. The written accounts are mostly old — Angi and HomeAdvisor both show 4.9 from 25 reviews spanning 2016 to 2024, and the bulk of those were written between 2016 and 2018, with the newest account posted this September. And BuildZoom's 106 permitted projects cluster in Milton, Brookline, Newton, Cohasset and Norwell, so if your house sits outside that arc, ask whether they come out to you.
For a panel or service upgrade, a 240-volt circuit for an induction range or an EV charger, or a breaker that keeps tripping, this is a straightforward call. Get the quote in writing — several customers single out the pricing as fair — and confirm your town is one they work in.
