A 2022 customer said their driveway was miserable with ice and the company's truck driver did everything he could to get them their oil until he was a success. That is CN Brown Energy at its best: a heating oil supplier that also pumps gas. On its BBB page, C.N. Brown Company describes itself as a family-owned, Maine-based energy provider since 1948 that sells heating fuels, gasoline, diesel and electricity from 26 heating oil offices and 76 Big Apple stores. Its BBB grade is A+. A recent customer said they are always friendly. A 2023 customer wrote that it was nice to have someone pump your gas, calling it a rare service. A 2024 customer singled out one worker, who they thought was named Michael, and said he deserved tips. Delivery timing is where accounts turn sour. A 2023 customer said they were told it would take 15 days to get an oil delivery and that it would be the last time they got oil there. A 2023 customer whose application for 30-day credit was refused over what the company called a delinquent account said deliveries were only on Wednesdays unless they paid an extra fee. A 2025 customer said some of the guys were great and others not so much. A dailybulldog.com article reports a consent agreement stating that a technician named Barker was employed by CN Brown Energy, which dispatched the technician to a Farmington Falls Road address after a call about an empty tank.

Told me 15 days to get an oil delivery. That's your main service how does it take that long. Last time I'll be getting oil from here
